If taking triple science in Y3 and Y4, is it true at Y5, they ask us to drop one science?
NUS requirement for medicine is Chemistry and Biology /Physics. If this is the case, what is the main reason students taking triple science? -
octoberbaby:
In JC, out of 4 subjects, one must be a contrasting subject (i.e. Humanities subject). Science-inclined students should take Math. That leaves 2 remaining spots to be filled with Science subjects, so yes, you must drop one. Though technically if you take KI you fulfill your contrasting subject requirement, so I suppose you could take triple science + math.If taking triple science in Y3 and Y4, is it true at Y5, they ask us to drop one science?

Why shouldn't they? They would have to take 4 subjects regardless, and some just like science better than humanities, and do better at science too. Same reason as why someone would choose lit, or any other subject.
(Another person who scored 20 marks higher for Geog but chose Lit instead. Got rec-ed for Geog RA and loved Human Geog and all, but Physical Geog is just really torturous for me - but I love all of Lit and all the class discussions, and also the fact that you don't need to study for Lit papers, so chose Lit)

I understand that's it's only the end of T1, but can seniors (or parents) advise on the likelihood of getting a transfer into RGS, if I'm currently a DSA-Sec (academic) student in another specialized school? I've tried appealing to the MOE, only to have my request turned down. Thank you, and have a great school term ahead!

I guess it will be quite tough. Maybe you can just called RGS Year 1 Admission-in-Charge. Gd Luck. -

Application for transfer is only open in october. Call to confirm. -
wonder why the school doesn’t emphasize a lot of cleanlines. Does the school engage sub-contract cleaners. Do these cleaners do their jobs in cleaning each classroom after the class everyday?
One of the classrooms were filled with spill-over milo powder, titbits wrappers, were not even being cleaned up on the first day of school Monday. Where are the cleaners? -

Dreamgear:
Agree. The person who spilled the milo powder should sweep it up and there shouldn't be titbit wrappers on the floor in the first place.

Should the girls even be eating in the class to begin with? Octoberbaby, which Year 2 class is your dd in? Maybe we should tell the prefects of her class to be more vigilant with their bookings for her class.
