Yup, I think that Std Cht card is rather good. Thinking of applying for it, since debit card, I can apply on my own heeheeOn stretching dollar, I find Standard Chartered Bank's Xtra saver account pretty good. Need maintain minimum balance with the bank and it gives at least 2% cash rebate for all master card purchase.
It's actually a debit card but can be used like any credit card except there's no credit period since amount will be directly deduct from your bank balance. So don't even have to remember to write cheque to pay monthly statement.
Go to Std Cht website to read more if interested -

No, BC.. We are definitely not short-changing ourselves.. We are just one league above some people (you know who they are)..:yikes:
Reading all the above I was :scared: :yikes: :yikes:
Am I short-changing myself?
Am I going to be happier after swiping all these stuff while in a foul mood?? Or will I get heartache over stuff that I would not have bought on a normal situation? Is the issue gonna be solved after all these purchases??
...... I guess different strokes for different people. If I am to go on a shopping spree while being angry, I think I will anyhow splurge & come home even more fedup. And this time not just with someone else, it's with myself
We shop when we are happy.. But they shop when they are angry..
We feel happy when our husbands are happy.. But they feel happy when their husbands are sad..
Our husbands buy things for us with their money (without even us asking).. But they buy things for themselves with their husbands' money just to spite them..
Our hearts are filled with LOVE for one another.. But their hearts are filled with HATRED & RESENTMENT for one another..
So, who are short-changing themselves??? -
I don’t usually use credit cards but after looking through the lists of items that can be exchanged from the points I’m having 2nd thoughts heehee. Though the troublesome part is to remember to set aside the money to pay for the bills.

My 3 regular cards are POSB everyday (for petrol & PUB bill only), Maybank family & friends (for NTUC, popular, guardian only), and everything else all charged to Xtra saver debit card.
None of above 3 cards give points. I find it very hard to accumulate sufficient points for redemption (and there's expiry date to those points) so I prefer direct cash rebates

Hmm... Looks like you are missing out citibank? Its another one with rebates. But there is a difference between may bank vs citibank and posb everyday card. May bank's rebate will offset against bill amount. Citibank and posb everyday's will chalk up and we need to tell the cashier at participating shops that we want to offset our rebates.SAHM_TAN:

Which citibank card would you recommend?
I have the impression citibank charged annual fees. Is yours free?
I applied POSB everyday card specifically to pump petrol. At point of payment, petrol cashier will always ask if wanna offset. PUB only accepts recurring payment by POSB everyday card so I also 顺便 charge PUB bill since already applied for the card -
The thing abt annual fees…my hubby has credit cards and when annual fees are due I will call bank to request to waive, I’m the PA on all administrative matters, and they do, SO why the annual fees?

No annual fee for other banks credit cards at point of application. And subsequent years also waive whenever I called
But citibank website always list annual fee at point of application le. So I dare not apply -

Does citibank have such promotion?
I don't understand why insert the fees when they are ok to waive. Might as well cut the extra admin work and do away with the fees. LOL
