:idea: Maybe kids who wish to register at these school must know how to speak Hokkien as a pre-entry requirement...the kids must be able to read a passage in Hokkien, or sing a Hokkien song during the interview...then very soon, many kids in Singapore are proficient in Hokkien...verykiasu2010:

since the kids got admitted into schools via Hokkien clan, should introduce a basic entry test (for deserving ones):- to what extent how Hokkien are they, truthfully ?
maybe time to start enrichment classes for kindergarten kids, teach them how to speak Hokkien, Cantonese, Teochew, Hakka, etc - so that next generation of kids do not lose out \"dialect\" -

My son is born in 2008 and entering P1 in 2014. Registration is next year.
My husband has been SHHK member since Aug 2011; 1.7 years. By Jul 2014 will be ~3 years.
What does it imply with the new PV for SHHK?
I need to start PV now even though we will be 3 year old member? -
PV alone is enough right? 80 hours in 1 year or?
Child 2009 and going to register for PV in Aug for Chongfu Primary.
Understand that PV may be given priority but subjected to balloting still.
