          Carlorino180:
Did teacher threaten to kill pupils?

A teacher has allegedly threatened to kill two primary school pupils.
Their father has made a police report accusing the teacher of making the threat at Causeway Point shopping centre last month, while the children were out shopping with their mother.
The teacher had apparently thought the children had been laughing at her.
The police are investigating the matter and the school and the Ministry of Education are assisting with investigations.

(This is an article from the New Paper on Sat,11 Aug 2012.)

Parents what is your opinion on this?pls share your views...thanks!
If the teacher is convicted for this crime what will happen to her?
          Hi,
I guess we should take note of the tone in which the words were uttered. Was the teacher joking? And how familiar was the teacher with the pupils? I know some pupil teacher relationships are quite close nowadays and have heard pupils speak to their teachers in the same tone they use on their friends. Maybe it was a personal joke? Have not read this article personally myself.
Hoping the best for the teacher.

basically, i am considering to enrol in Greenwood or Innova. But after reading this threat, i think my priority now is Innova. Althought i have not do anything yet, just some research on school.

I like the fast reponse reply from the school. I got the enquiry reply within a day. Bravo!!!

I am signing up the PV next week, as the clossing date for PV for 2014 intake is on Jun 2012 (i gt the fright when i saw the deadline). Can curent PV share thier experience? like what they do and how it go about?

            Thanks
Hi I did PV duties a few times last year. The PVs were a friendly bunch. They try to make u feel part of a family and the leaders (P or VP) usually drop by to show their appreciation of your efforts, even for a short while. I enjoyed those sessions.

Be prepared to get phone calls from teachers if the child is not performing to expectation in class.

For your child to use grandparents' address, even if grandparents stay within 1km of Innova, during balloting, your child will be ballot among 1km to 2km.

                      Statutory Declaration
                      Below is adapted from: http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/statutory-declaration/
Statutory declaration is required for parents who wish to register their child using the address of the child’s grandparent or the parent’s sibling and the address is within 2 km from the school of choice.

                      Eligibility Criteria

Both parents are working full-time at the time the statutory declaration was made; and
The child is under the full time care of a grandparent or a parent’s sibling; and
The child’s grandparent or the parent’s sibling is not employed.
                      Declaration Details & Required Documents

The child’s grandparent or the parent’s sibling and one of the child’s parents are required to make a statutory declaration in person at the MOE Customer Service Centre.
If statutory declaration is used, children who are registered using either the grandparent’s or the parent’s sibling’s address and residing within 1 km or between 1 km and 2 km from the school of choice are balloted together with the other children of the same citizenship residing between 1 km and 2 km from the school.
