When do you think is a good time for children to use mechanical pencils?

I personally prefer them because they don’t require sharpening, but they tend to be harder for young children to use and maintain. P1 and P2 kids should stick to 0.7mm leads.

I bought a shinkansen school bag from Isetan sale at $43 and that is the lightest I can get. Today, also visited the crosscom showroom and was introduced to their bags too, not so light like the one i bought but I find the clip makes an easy task to close the bag. Very pricey though, just like the ergo desk and chairs. Wonder if there are any alternatives other than kinder fun.

You can check out the \"Pop Kids\" ergo bag from Popular. The last I checked it was about $35. Very lightweight too, with top open flap that allows good access to the bag's contents. Almost 2 years and counting now.

My 6-yr-old daughter kept breaking her mechanical pencil leads when writing with it, and I thought it's her fault that she used too much strength! Now that you say it, I'm glad I didnt chide her over it πŸ˜›

An alternative to mechanical pencils are those bullet/cartridge types. They are thicker and harder to break.

When buying so called \"Ergo\" bags, personally, beside looking at the contour cushions that supports the bag(how do we know they r really good for backs as we just take it as it was claimed), weight is the top priority.

We have infact checked out those that cost $80 to more than $100 but they were heavy! I cant imagine how my son is going to carry it when it was filled up with books!

Finally, we decided on the lightest bag that we can find called Campro (from Mustafa) which only cost $30+. But we are not sure how durable it is but I think it looks good enough visually. πŸ˜„
                Cheers!

Yeah I saw the Campro bag at Popular selling $39.90. It has a pink version which is the top priority for my girl, LOL.

                    Hi All,

Wow getting a bag is so expensive! 😒

Easily cost from $30 onwards & best part they does not comes with any warranty. Unlike in Overseas where there is some kind of examination bodies.

Perhaps should go over JB get cheap & good bag.

I bought the ERGO bags (from SPI) for my children. They are supposed to protect the back due to the design and if carried the proper way, with the straps, will help in their posture as well. Each bag cost around S$100 (plus minus $10-$20), depending on design. If you buy from Hong Kong, it will be around 30% cheaper. They are really good. So far my daughter has been carrying the same one for 4 years already, nothing is spoilt. So I find the money well spent.
