I donโ€™t think Scott cod liver oil is anything similar to Omega Oil. If you look at the packaging, it says only includes Vitamin A and D plus calcium. There is no DHA associated with omega oil. I would suggest spending more money to buy Omega Oil instead.

        Hi ArielMermaid,

Did you see any visible difference after going on a gfcf diet? How long before you noticed the difference?

When DS went on a vegie diet, he was like an angel in terms of behaviour. Not sure about concentration for work though.
        Hi Fifiyeo,
I think we can see a difference within a few weeks. However, that could be because in addition to the implementation of gfcf diet, we also did other forms of biomedical intervention like administering probiotics, etc.

What is worth mentioning that nowadays, we can instantly tell if he ingested some gluten/ casein- he'd listen less, giggle more and be more active, and is generally less \"obedient\".

        Hope the above helps
Hi anyone has any food nutritionist to recommend that will help reduce hyperactivity in child? I understand gluten free food are recommended. But when I surf around I couldn't really make out exactly what are these gluten free food that a 5 yo child can take. Thanks in advance.

          Hi Summer Tan,
You are looking at biomedical intervention? Perhaps you can go to Dr. Erwin Kay for advice.

Gluten is found primarily in wheat and also other products like oats. My 7yo is currently on a gfcf (gluten free and casein free diet). He takes special bread and cereal for breakfast and snacks. For these (and more) products, I usually go to Brown Rice Paradise at Tanglin Mall, or Back2Basics at Telok Blangah.

          Hope it helps

Thank you. May I know where is dr Erwin Kay's clinic located? Is whole meal bread gluten free too? Do u have any recipe to share? My son takes pork chicken and fish.
Hi,
Dr Erwin Kay has two clinics, and I go to the one at Paragon, called Amelio Clinic. You can google it.

As long as the bread is from wheat flour, it has gluten. Pork and chicken are ok; we avoid fish because my son has high level of mercury. He takes a potent fish oil though, to get the omega-3.

Sorry, I don't have recipes cos I don't cook. You can google \"gluten-free\" receipes and get a lot of hits.

          Thanks

The DHA is on the cover of the packaging. Very big and in colour.

                Summer tan:
                slmkhoo:

Just something to think about - if you plan to start excluding things from your child's diet, do it one at a time, maybe for a couple of weeks. If you exclude lots of things at once and you see improvement, you won't know what caused the change. It will be easier to maintain a diet with a few exclusions than if you exclude a large no. of things because you don't know which ones actually trigger negative effects.

Thanks simkhoo for the reminder ya.

fifyeo, I'm puzzled. Why onion and garlic too? As for milk, so soy milk?

Milk refers to cow's milk. Milk products are generally harder for the body to digest and does not work out well for people with a weaker stomach. Milk seems to cause DS to start producing a lot of mucus resulting in cough. So we cut out cheese and milk to almost 99%. DS eats ice cream but soya based ones. ๐Ÿ˜„

For people who practise meditation (in yoga, or monks...), garlic and onions are to be excluded from their diet. You can goggle on this. Anyway, we all know that garlic and onions also produce a lot of wind in the stomach, so again it's not good for people with a weak stomach as well.

DS has a weak stomach so I try to exclude these from DS's diet.

You can try fish oil first. I think you can see a difference. I felt it after DS took it for about 2 weeks. But you have to check out the % of the components in all the different brands. You might want to goggle on fish oils and it's effects on ADHD kids.

These days I make fresh Soya milk for DS.

You can buy Rice milk from the supermarket. We stock on that at home too.
