(1) Where is a good place to shop for shoes (comfort shoes, sandals)?

I bought 7 pairs of shoes for my girls (7 & 11). For DD1, I bought original Paul Frank at about $50 only compared to $ 110-120 in Singapore. These are super comfortable even for my girl who wears size 8-8 1/2. Taiwan has many designs too. Sport shoes are also cheaper than Singapore.

For my younger girl, she has Paul Frank $ 50 average and also converse look-alike shoes for $ 8-12 only.

These shops can be found in everywhere, underground shops, night markets and even department stores can have some good deals too.

In Taipei alone, we stayed 7 days to eat & shop only. There are lots to buy, just we didnt have enough money!!!

I hear starry's drive up is quite scary. I am scared of heights....

I stayed in Starry for 2 nights in Dec and loved it! We had our own driver so it wasnt that inconvenient. The compound was big so the kids had rooms to run. The rooms are not fancy but decent enough. Room rate also include steamboat. After a cold day outside, we were quite happy to have steamboat dinner at Starry.

Most importantly it was the highest point in Cingjing so you practically look down to every Minsu in the area from the deck. Never in my life I saw so many stars in 1 night!

Just have to book early. It was full when we were there. 1 family I met had been there 3X.

I booked about 3 months ahead for popular minsus. For the rest, not an issuse. There are many Minsus in Taiwan. Easy to find 1 to suit your budget.

I wont recommend my driver cos he was quite reckless driver. But I know people are full of praises for the drivers from a website/a facebook. pls pm me if you want the website.

Basically Driver price range is between SGD $200-300 per day. Some drivers are really just \"drivers\", not a guide. If you have 7 people, you can book a mini van 9 seater. If you have only 3-4 people, you can book a Wish MPV driver.

If you are going to stay at Starry Minsu, you can ask the Owner to recommend you their popular drivers. I met some of them! Very nice guys!

We had a cheap driver but we paid all his meals and towards the end, we offerred to pay for his single rooms at our minsu! that was expensive!
