Thanks, PapayaDad.between 1/2 and 5/6
answer 2/5 wrong
So we can pick any 2 fractions?
What if the fractions must be x/y and (x+2)/(y+2) like in the question?
Then is it always true that x/y < (x+1)/(y+1) < (x+2)/(y+2) :? -

Hi BigDevil,
Thank you for your answer.
I do not understand the question? Could you explain what they means by
sixths in the question?
n.
1. (Mathematics)
a. one of six equal or nearly equal parts of an object, quantity, measurement, etc.
b. (as modifier) a sixth part
2. (Mathematics) the fraction equal to one divided by six (1/6)
So the question is asking how many 1/6's there are in the given fraction. -
Hi BigDevil,
Thank you for your clear explanation. -
