3. Choosing the correct sentence 句子选择 (2m)-->all sentence looks similar--> how to find the best suitable one? I share the same problem with you...but at this level, knowing how to read is crucial bcos my daughter knows which sentence is definitely wrong when I read to her.
4. Complete a sentence 完成句子 (MCQ) -- how to choose the correct mostly suitable option?
8. Completing a conversation 完成对话 (5m)--> write your own like fill in the blank? Choose the correct sentence from options given. Again, have to read and find clues in the next sentence provided.
9. Comprehension: MCQ and OE (16m)
OE:
1. 从文中找出表达意思的词语-->finding word meaning from passage..she was introduced to this type question in this year..bit struggling..dont know how to guide her..
2. 根据文章内容，找出答案写在表格里-->always write half answers..and find difficulty in thinking questions..which is mostly the last question..

All these components are very new...have to go intensive with daughter this March holiday.

Ok Janet. I will tell my daughter to be patient and slowly read thru the options.

She is the queen of rushing up.. have to change the mindset slowly..

This so-called holiday is not entirely a fun one. When term 2 begins, it will be very mad rush to prepare her for the scary SA1 format. Just thinking of the component like the comprehension question with the box, finding the 词语 from passage is going to be uphill. Whose idea is it to bring this new format in so soon? :slapshead:

Hi Janet,
what is this new comprehension question you are talking about :shock: ?
I am not aware of this and not sure my DD school has introduced it or not..
request you to post a sample online..was this in P4 syllabus previously?

I am not using PC now...or can post sample.

CL Chinese comprehension has 2 types: MCQ and open ended.
For open ended, p3s are supposed to find 词语 from passage. There is also this question which requires students to fill in the box based on answers found in passage. Sorry, hope I am not confusing you.

Janet, thanks for the clear description. will ask DD tonight if she is learning this new comprehension question method in school.


She did encounter the question, where she is supposed the find the word with similar meaning in the passage.

My DD’s chinese is totally outsourced…as I don’t speak or read chinese…
Have to discuss with my DD’s chinese tutor about this too…

Ayah…just stress…stress… and more stress… each year…

With that introduction of the new format, my present lot of assessment books is considered 'outdated' as most of them do not have the box in comprehension :slapshead:
