The private buses were the old school buses that operate to fetch students for many years. Until 3 or 4 years ago, the school called for open bid and the contract was awarded to the current official bus company.
really? why? we thgt the school was agst private school bus so we din bother to ask when the private bus drivers try to solicit at the gate during orientation.June:
We sign up for the private school bus too as it was highly recommended...
However, the old school bus drivers after operating for so many years in KH, have already gained their reputation and supports from a lot of parents. Therefore they continue to operate there and that is why there are two groups of buses.
For my case, I started long ago for my DS with the private bus. I continue to use them because they are flexible if you need some special arrangements, and the service is very personal as you deal with the driver directly. While for the official bus, the drivers are employed by the bus company and you have to deal with the company instead of the driver.
And unlike the private bus driver who is always the same person I have been dealing with for the past 6 years, the official bus driver may not be the same guy all the time.
It is important for me that I trust the bus driver and I know him. -
hi hquek,

my qns is does kong hwa allocate the numbers of PV, clan and grassroots every yr in phase 2b  ... as my frenz told me rgps has capped 40 pv so the sch accepts 40 applications only...

reniner: Nice to see you here...:) re: sms
if i m not wrong it was 40 last year too :0) Call up the school to check it out.
....5 more days to school reopens !!!! -
hi reiner,
So des…was wondering why the question. Again, my best answer is to call up the school to enquire. I assume you are not going down the hokkien clan path.
btw, both schools you are eyeing, seems to place strong emphasis in chinese language. Not sure if that will form part of your consideration.
There are others around the area that seem good (not clear on your kids’ gender) - St Andrews come across as highly recommended, so is Geylang methodist primary. -
Hi June,
nice to see you hor... keke

Hi hquek,

Hi, the school handbook states that the students have to be @ the school by 12:25PM. Can anyone share if it was ok to be slightly late cos my kid has piano class.

you should b able to find the private bus drivers at the carpark next to school during noon time. Just ask any of them and they will direct you to the driver serving your area.
