It's hard to find a child who initiates tuition...but when it happens, the effect will be stronger bcos he/she will have mindset to excel.

If only all my students have this mentality..

Guess that could be only reason…daughter had several worksheets on multiplication & division 6/7/8/9. When I planned revision for next week, found that these are actually way into mid term 2.

Er... I was one of these students. I requested, arranged and paid for my own tuition lessons when I was in sec 3-4.

And a good teacher is able to change that mentality too

                  Given enough time, yes.

If parents and teachers work together, possible.

I work very closely with tutors...so that I can provide backup on my part.
Tutors already providing customised coaching, so if parents remind kids to revise, kids will do better...2 way traffic.

I am relieved I am not the only parent who feels the need for tuition even though kids go to school…after reading ST page 2 yesterday. It has become a need, no longer a luxury.
