Drink the water from plain ric porridge (teochew porridge), it’s called ‘uhm’ and is very good to rehydrate. overall is good.

Else, drink brown sugar mixed in water.

        Charcoal pills.

Nothing oily. Best to eat toast bread. Porridge water to be hydrated.

Yes if you like natural remedy, the porridge water helps.

If you are dehydrating, drink isotonic water to replace your body fluids.

Dhamotil, Imodium (loperamide) .. will quickly stop the diarrhea

            Get from any pharmacist

If pharmacist is not available, can get Charcoal tablets. However, they will not stop diarrhea immediately as they absorb the toxins so that the body can pass out. This is a more natural way though

Remember to keep the body hydrated ..
Imodium works faster in my opionion....Dhamotil is milder....
            Yes, charcoal tablets is good...
esp after the diarrhorea has somewhat stop, i'll take charcoal tablets to absorb toxins, the stomach feels better after that....

My uncle was having a bad diarrhea some years back when we travel together to Bangkok. The doctor there suggested him to drink 'Sprite' and it did stop the diarrhea.

              Sprite ? learn something new....
Once, i had a very serious diarrhorea, or rather a serious food posioning when i was in Phuket....
couldnt able to get up to visit a doc....
hub went to the clinic (recommended by the hotel) on my behalf
and the doc there juz prescribed the medication for me, without even need to see me.... 😉
seems that the docs there are very good in dealing with diarrhorea...
his medicine worked wonder but i forgot to take down the names of the medication....

Hi Augmum, is Imodium a prescribed medication? Can I buy it directly from the pharmacy?

Plain porridge with a bit of salt or bovril… eat until it stops. Usually within a day. Also can take some lactobacillius (sachets, pills, or yakult).

I second the ‘Urmh’ of the plain porriage. Just drink the water, don’t eat the rice. After that don’t eat anything. Except drinking the WATER of the the plain porriage.

I tried numerous time, and it work for my whole family!!! Mostly within one day, recover liao.
