Maybe try out p1, p2 in nan Hua first. When come p3, cca step in. By then if stick to nh, rent a house there. If not, seek transfer to cedar primary, or to an affiliated primary school eg: marris stellar, nearer yr place, Joo Seng (if boy) if girl, if her results are good, can seek transfer easier at p3/p4. The foundation years p1-p3 v impt. Nh sap school Chinese v strong. Cedar primary non sap, hence the big difference. For yr child to trsf from Ng to cedar (if need be 1 day), no issue. But reverse may be issue- whr Chinese is concerned.

If she doesn’t create a conducive environment at home to help her kids learn Chinese properly, even go to schools like :-
Nan Hua, Nan Chiau, Nanyang, Ai Tong, Tao Nan, Hong Wen, Kong Hwa, Poi Ching, Pei Chun, Pei Hwa, Maha Bodhi, St Nick, Catholic High, Maris Stella, River Valley, Red Swastika, Holy Innocent, etc… no use.

Thanks all for ur advise… I spoken to my hubby cousin who is a teacher and who is also old boy from cedar… but apparently they say they will not send their kid to cedar… coz there is a chance tt cedar might close down… over the years the population had been decreasing… e vacancy for primary 1 intake is only 120 last year… not sure if it will drop this year though…

Actually my hubby n I r still thinking… n we were thinking if let her try nan hua first… n of she really becomes more tired… then to rent a house in clementi… n rent out joo seng lor… dun noe if this plan is good but very scare make the wrong decision…

For me if I’m in your position, I won’t choose cedar primary. Her 120 pupils is about four p1 classes. (Assuming 30 kids per class)

Instead, I"ll rent a house in clementi from (p1-p3), & in turn rent out Joo Seng flat. When p4 come, assess situation again. if No issue with rental, then let boy continue study all the way to p6. But if face rental issue, then will seek transfer into Maris Stella primary (ms) From nan Hua sap to Ano sap Sch Maris, dun face so much prob w Chinese. I"ll also look at what sort of cca are portable from NH to ms. (In case trsf plan come true) bec Joo Seng v near mount Vernon crematorium / army camp and ms around there. If one day cedar close down or merge with Ano Sch, 30 yrs later, yr grandchildren face issue with p1 registration then. What you plan today set the future direction for yr grandchild 1 day. Don’t be scared. Your gut feel or your sixth sense will indicate if u r making correct decision.

                Hi enjoy family ,

Another factor u need to consider where are both you n your hubby's working place. Is it very far from clementi ? If your hubby is working in the east side , then it will be a distance to travel to work . If he or you is working eg in the west side, then it make sense to shift to clementi .
Beside cedar , there are other schools around that area. Yours is a girl . Can consider canossa convent , yangzheng n zhong hua as well . Canossa convent used to be very popular during my time . Your location within 1-2 km of these schools ?

On the enrollment number , even for yangzheng , the enrollment is reduced to 180 due to the single session. Joo SENG area will be developed due to the nearby development going to take place. Cedar may then become popular . I remembered previously it was cedar boy n cedar girl primary. Later on , merged to become cedar primary . Ha ha . There is no affiliation to Cedar girl sec sch , otherwise no need to 😓 . Cedar primary will confirm be a hot school. :rotflmao:

Cannosa convent primary p1 I take also 120 pupils, same number as cedar primary - 120. Only difference is Cannosa is a convent "all girls" school, whereas cedar is co-Ed. Cedar is not afflicted to cedar secondary.
