          Hi,

I understand that for P1 registration in 2012 for South View, SC within 1km require balloting. Anyone has any information on how many SC is fighting for the 39 vacancies?

Furthermore, may I know that under the new ruling, SC that staying >2km has the priority to enter the school than PR staying <1km?

I will need to register my boy this year, and both CCKPS and SVPS are within 1km from my place. I am not sure how possible can I enter in SVPS. When I called them yesterday, the admin told me that it is quite high chance for my boy to enter…

          Should I take the risk?

Yes. SC has absolute priority over PRs, i.e. PRs can only stand a chance after all SCs are admitted regardless of distance

Depends on what you consider as high chance. Last year's probability for SVPS was 41/103, about 40% chance. Is that high?

            Should I take the risk?

Only you can answer this question. πŸ™‚

                hi,

any parents registering their little piggies later this year for primary one (2014 intake)?

if yes can share which primary schools are u looking at? I'm hoping to get a feel of how popular certain schools are to decide if the risks are high or not.

personally, i am a SC and i have to register my dd in phase 2C. i actually stay within 1km of South View Primary but i feel the risks for SV are too high in my dd not getting a place there.

so i decided on the following schools

                1) De La Selle Pri (1-2km)
                2) CCK Pri (<1km)
                3) Concord Pri (1-2km)

but should i just go for the safer option of CCK Pri instead or take a small risk of trying my luck at DLS cos last year DLS had balloting for SC within 1-2km.

hope to receive some replies fr other parents. Thk u πŸ™‚

As PR, it seems CCK is best case for my daughter, but ballot last year for PR within 1km, so I am considering Concord as well.

                        Hi fellow users,

I am in the process of enrolling my daughter for Primary 1 in 2014. At present, we are living in Australia and may return to Singapore in the second half of next year or even early 2015. Whilst we are very keen to stay in Australia, very much depends on the job market in the coming years.

I have been notified to enrol my daughter under Phase 2C. We are within 1km from four primary schools - Unity, De La Salle, Kranji and Yew Tee. My application process is either to send documents to the pupil placement section OR direct to the preferred schools.

Herein lies our predicament - my little girl is going to school in Australia and enjoys her school environment. They have small classes and everything is taught in English in a highly discovery oriented manner, unlike Singapore classrooms that are more structured and rigid? She speaks very much with an Australian accent and cannot read Chinese at all. We are looking for a school that is not necessarily academically inclined but more towards developing morals and civic mindedness.

                        All suggestions/comments are welcomed.

                        Many thanks!
