There is no purples in my life for me. Maybe the purple is to live and live, then die.

                  Hi,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It's interesting and I share it with my DS (P4) who coincidentally asked me this question. However, from his expression he seems to have lots of questions that I can't answer thus I asked him to write out his questions and opinions instead.

                  (3) What is our purpose in life?
His guess: To live, to see if we go to heaven , hell or be reborn again. We might have been born to reproduce. Maybe to live it to the fullest. To have an experience. We might be in a game.

Appreciate on sharing, how to tackle his questions.

                  Cheers,
interesting that your son wrote that bit about being in a game. That's the same conclusion that some scientists came up with, ie. that we're all part of a universe wide simulation, ala Matrix.

I'm now going to give my simulated brain some simulated rest.

When one of my sons, age 10 years then asked me, "Mum, what do you want me to be when I grow up?" He was expecting me to say, a doctor or lawyer. I took the question seriously and thought about it before I replied. I said, " I want you to be Happy". He said,"No mum, really, what do you want me to be?". My reply was, "Happy". I explained that it may sound so simple but it could be a tall order! He needed to do and be what ever made him happy. He is now doing his second year uni and guess what he is ‘Happy’. He never forgot what I said. The question, What’s the purpose of Life and my answer has not changed. It is to be ‘happy’. It is our expectations and never being satisfied that keeps us away from ‘happiness’.

It's interesting - Kids do ask BIG questions!

Big questions are what philosophers call 'philosophical questions'.

Your kids may like to discuss and contribute their thoughts at
                      http://www.philosophy4children.com.sg/dilemmas/index.
Do encourage them to discuss with you and pen down their thoughts.

Our little kids are capable of big thoughts!

                      😄
