Parents of P6 who went for ytd oral programme, please share the comments from your child.

Mine was very unhappy - I have not asked him the reasons yet.
my son did not say much about that. just said that they have had the chance to practise and the teacher gave them some tips about the \"对话\".

He was excited abt his 手偶,as seems like got picked for some moe exhibition…was really happy it was enriching and entertaining for him…

I guess that's what those camps were for ... to inbue an affection for the Chinese language and culture. Mine enjoyed it too, playing with his mask, hand puppet and all. He said he was given too much food during the 2 days, like 1 meal & 3 snacks a day. 😂

Quick, strike while the iron is hot; get him some Chinese books to read for the rest of the holidays.

I think this model is not approved for use in exam.

I bought 1 high end Besta model in the past too for home use but found that the English translation is not as good as the free app in iphone or ipad.

                Hi,

Does anyone have a child in P2 this year (2013)? How do you find the speed of teaching Chinese this year? My child’s teacher has completed Lesson 9 before the Term 1 ended and I find tough to keep up with this. I don’t understand why there is a need to rush through all the lessons and complete 9 chapters when there are only 22 chapters for the entire year.

                Any comments?

For this type of query, it's best to seek clatification from T directly. I agree covering 9 chap within 1 term looked like doing it in double quick time. The only reason I can think of is that majority of the class is able to cope, but then, that adds to the disadvantage of the weaker students.

I will also suggest calling or emailing the chinese T. For my boy in p3, they have only completed Chap 5. For previous yrs, it is usually 1 chapter a wk, w allowances for festivities, sch closures etc…

My boy's class at Chapter 8. Not on Chapter 9 yet.
I would think that the teacher may want to spend more time on revising later on since the grades will be used for banding from this term onwards. Nevertheless, you should still clarify with the teacher about your doubts.

My DD is in P2 & her class is now at middle of chapter 8. I guess if most of the pupils in the class can cope, the teacher will go faster. You may want to voice your concern to the teacher to see if he/she can offer any help.
