      tanhl:
      thks.

but i didnt join alumni, so are my classmates, who managed to enrol their girls under 2A2, so was wondering if the schools still recognise this?

cos according to MOE website, parent of sibling must be from the pri sch of choice, which we are not.
From what I know, the schools recognised this last year, but for this year and subsequent years, must confirm with the school nearer the date of registration. If your gal is only due for P1 in 2015, you can consider joining the alumni, then can register under 2A1

she is due for p1 next yr, so a bit late now to join alumni.

thks anyway for sharing the info.

actually, i had no intention to enrol her initially, as i have twins, 1 boy 1 gal.
itโ€™ll be logistically challenging if they go to different schs.

but a friend "brainwashed" me with the idea of her having some "advantage" if she intend to go to SNGS sec, but results not really stellar.

can anyone share with me how long in advance do we need to enroll with the school bus operator?

Is it still as packed as before?

            It depends where u stay.
It's first come first serve basis.
            Call the operator to enquire.

School bus operator's contact can be found in the school website (under School Information > General Information). Back in my dd's time, the bus operator will be present during P1 orientation. You can sign up then. What they'll do is call you up a few days before school starts to let you know the exact pick-up time.

I see. thanks for the info.

That reminds me, when would they confirm if our kids are confirmed in their bus? On the spot or wait till a few days before school starts?

If the latter, wouldn't I need to look for more?

I saw 1 supplier for the school bus. Does St nicks only allow them to ferry the girls or are there other school buses?

Sorry for the very green questions.

In my case, they confirmed a week before school started.

I dun think you need to look for more. Although only 1 supplier, they have many drivers and buses going all over Singapore. I would be very surprised if u live in an area not covered by them.

Why not u give them a call and ask if they currently have a bus (or buses) covering your area? That's what I did last year ๐Ÿ˜„

I see. cos i read from the early pages that they ran out of seats in the bus and some parents not able to find other school buses. Thus my concern so early.
