Hi, Buds, thanks for the detailed description. Definitely will try it. Always run out of idea what to cook.

About canola oil, you might want to know more about it. Here is one link : http://breathing.com/articles/canola-oil.htm

      buds:

I had Canola Oil so I didn't purchase the olive oil as per \"R's\" actual recipe but I got the exact spice from the racks at Cold Storage for abour $6.25, I think? :skeptical: Can't remember the exact price. Oh yes, \"R\" went for the non-spicy one while ...
      Enjoy!

Indonesian style of cooking. My favorites are chicken wings (have to order rice), tahu telor, soto ayam. Order lime juice to cool down.

The chilli must be chilli padi...it is so spicy that just a little of it can make me cry. There are lots of stalls who are copycats...the one at lucky plaza is the real thing.
Looks like I have some reason to drag DH and DS there soon. Maybe it might be a better idea to visit with friends. My DH and DS low tolerance for chilli padi. They like sweet chilli, the McDonald's kind šŸ˜‰

            Hi znzyzyzx...

You are most welcome on the detailed recipe on Butter Rice and Baked Fish. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php

I used this brand of canola oil from Golden Circle. It was given by a kind aunt of mine who recently gave us a food hamper. :please:

            http://i49.tinypic.com/hv6ypf.jpg\">

Golden Circle has a long history, with the introduction of its flagship product, Golden Circle Corn Oil. Over the past two decades, catching on changing consumer trends, Golden Circle has launched a variety of healthy cooking oils, such as the Golden Circle Sunflower Oil and Golden Circle Canola Oil. Having attained the Healthier Choice certification from the Health Promotion Board of Singapore, Golden Circle contains zero cholesterol and is free from trans-fat to give health-conscious consumers a healthier cooking choice!

A new member of the Golden Circle family is the Vegetable Oil. Using 100% super refined high quality Palm Olein, Golden Circle Vegetable Oil is naturally free from cholesterol, an ideal healthier choice for deep frying and crispy dishes.

As with every other information on the internet, i try to read most with pinches of salt. Likewise with a lot of other information on cancer as well.. because i wonder what else in this lifetime is not cancer prone 🤷; be it a product, a certain lifestyle or something... somewhere... somehow... someone will report its cancerous side-effect.

I do believe though everything in moderation should be fine. :xedfingers: Yes, including :romance:. I already have too many http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/skype-emoticons.html to know that moderation is the key to things. šŸ˜† Nevertheless, thank you for sharing your link on the dangers of the oil. Today, everyone will learn something new... myself included. :please:

Here's a link to share with you on the oil, from a different perspective.

            Health information ~ Wikipedia

Canola oil is low in saturated fat and contains both omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids in a ratio of 2:1. If consumed, it also reduces Low-density lipoprotein and overall cholesterol levels, and as a significant source of the essential omega-3 fatty acid is associated with reduced all-cause and cardiovascular mortality. It is recognized by many health professional organizations including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and American Heart Association.

Canola oil has been given a qualified health claim from the United States Food and Drug Administration due to its high levels of cholesterol-lowering fats.

Eating fruits or vege as a meal will lead to lots of gas.

Because there's nothing else inside there to blend with except gas, that's why. But hopefully the gas is more aromatherapy blend since it is the fruity dose intake. :please:

If you ladies like spicy chilli, I recommend you this place at Lucky Plaza 2nd floor. Ayam Penyet...the chilli is so spicy you can tear...oh yes, free flow of chilli.
                Like chilli? :skeptical:

                LOVE chilli you mean?

                Me.. me.. me! :imcool:

Not sure if this is the same Ayam Penyet with burning hot yet sensational chilli that you raved about, because couple of weeks ago we tried out this Ayam Penyet Ria at Far East Plaza since the SAKURA Thai/Indo cuisine seemed to have closed down.

                  Their chilli is really ...................

                  Cannot talk. Too spicy.
                  Not at first bite though.
You'd taste the FULL flavour after a few mouthfuls of the ayam penyet with the chilli. I was on fire! But yah, shiok. :siao:
