hihi.. agree that the ccas are quite a niche.. i have a qns..why do we need to pay for it...? does that apply to other schs as well? i know they have engaged an outside provider, why cant get the tr to conduct...?
You have a point there.
But i suppose these are not the school's official CCAs.. so it is considered like an enrichment course for the students. Other schools they already have existing CCA programme in place. As CCAs only starts at P3 onwards, they usually conduct introductory classes for P1 and P2. And they tap on the existing CCAs to conduct these introductory modules.. hence no need to pay. Not sure how the other new schools do this though.
Not sure if the teachers have the ability to teach these programmes also. I mean.. some of them may know how to skate.. but may not know how to teach kids to skate properly, etc.
Just my take ah. -
At the Parents’ Briefing… hmm… not many people.

sianz… weighted assessment starting from this term onwards… not in favor of it.

the Head ICT is full of energy and can see that he has great creativity… at last… there’s someone who shows a high level of creativity!

Can share about the parents briefing? What is weighted assessment?
Thanks. -
Mr.Chua said ,All the slides shown will be put up on the school website. English Syllabus is quite extensive:-) Difficult days ahead for parents!!
-
I find the Maths like quite serious… heavy stuff…
anyway… weighted assessment is when they will start grading and scoring our kids ah… marks/points will be given… for term 1 it is not points based… more of qualitative assessment… good… v.good… excellent -
Tot they are using Stellar Program for English. So now there is a structured syllabus?
Looks like we are going into serious staff now. More pressure for parents n children? -
the way I see it… the syllabus is always there… juz a matter of how the lessons are conducted… briefings to me don’t reflect anything ah… teachers have to present professionally. They want to ensure parents that our kids are in good hands… end of the day it is how the teachers go about the lessons to make them interesting that matters.

but one thing I’m excited for sure… the school is gonna have their own radio station!!!.. the kids can get to be radio DJs!!!
