About the regular test thingy, here I would like to share about my three university friends who always get distinction in their exams even in the university.


Their secret, only 4 things to do, before teacher even start to teach that topic, they already (1) pre-study 1 round; when teacher first time teach, (2) they verified what they understand is correct compared to teacher and listen carefully things they cannot figure out during pre-study; when doing worksheets, (3) they enhanced their understanding; (4) they try to find out what fellow classmates school works problem and try help them to solve it, better understand the concept by gathering all the knowledge in order to deliver and articulate it.

Well, it’s every parents dream to have a kid like them.

CHS has high expectation of it’s Maths, as it has been a long tradition that the school and also their students are proud of their high standard of Maths. Maths is the only subject which can get perfect scores, secret is practice.

I think our kids, including mine, are over pampered, that is why our kids are seen to be always do not have as good results as the foreign students study here. But we also heard of our students (not referring to scholarships holders) who go overseas do well in overseas universities, why? No pampering parents there.

It’s like the baby butterfly need to break out by itself in order to be able to fly, it you give it a hand, it will never fly the remaining of it’s life.

Not that true either. Overseas school curriculum different. Last time I had American Expat neighbours. The kids who are 2 years older than me had schoolwork that was easier than what I did in school! So to get them out of the house to play with me, I would help them along so they could finish faster and go play!

I think some school have dual track and this is use to specify which track the post is refering to, example cut off points,

You mean in this forum? Then you have already answered the question yourself.. To indicate that the school is an IP school (ie. it offers IP)..

The foreign students, I believe, you'd be referring to, specifically, the very hard-driving Chinese students. Thirst for excellence to 出位, I believe, a habit ingrained into the very fibres of their being.

Hey ManU123.. Why did you copy Dreamgear's reply to you at CHS thread, and paste his post at so many other schools' threads (which he did not even participate in).. What is your intention? Are you trying to use Dresmgear's post to get a reply from Admin?

RI is Raffles Institution - no *IP* next to their name
RGS is Raffles Girls Schoo, - again, no *IP* next to their name.
HCI is Hwa Chong Institution - no *IP* next to their name.

Likewise:
NYGH: Nanyang Girls High School
NJC: National Junior College
RVH: River Valley High School
Catholic High School - Dual Track
Victoria School - Dual Track
Cedar Girls' School - Dual Track
St Nicholas Girls' School - Dual Track.

And quite a few more - but all don't have *IP* next to their name. Which does???

Why only pure IP schools have [IP] beside the school names, like RI RGS HCI NYGH DHS NJC RVH etc.. whereas new IP schools which offer dual track do not have [IP] beside the school names, like CHS SJI VS SCGS SNGS Cedar Girls' Sch etc.

He/she has posted the same question in all the above new IP schools (with Dreamgear's post attached)..
