Though my son’s badminton coach has connection with one of the top schs. Don’t think i want to dsa thru sports. I mean he has other activities not whole life dedicated to badminton. He will join badminton CCA in the future sec sch, but won’t commit when there are competitions.

I would try dsa thru academic instead. What to prepare for academic?

HCI - I heard the school offers one student via weiqi each year. The school looks at academic results too. Once, the school made an offer to the second best weiqi player among those who applied because the best player's academic results were not good enough.
