How to stop copy cats...

As much as I like to feel that their copying is completely flattering to me… It has affected my DD as she’s rather emo type! I think their copying is totally distasteful when they even video DD during her sparring… And the sparring is not even with their DD!!! How…???

My DS had such a friend at P1, really buay tahan but still have to 'act friendly'.. .. When copycat couldn't 'win',start being nasty and mean to my DS..

I guess in competitive sports, it's rather common to record own and competitor's performance to be studied later on. Your dd must be better than theirs right ?

Yes, can be irritating but take it as learnings - - it takes all kinds of people to make this world.

SAHM_TAN, auntieM's only child is a DS.


While this copy-catting trait isn't causing harm, it does come with some form of annoyance.

At first a little noisy.. can block out. Later on, like... :whut:
Eventually, it becomes total annoyance really.. :roll:
Because the child starts to somewhat stalk your child's every move.
If the parent is also exhibiting similar pattern, i can really empathize with thread starter. :snuggles:

While you don't want to be rude, you also try to be firm. May not work. :frustrated:
While you welcome healthy competition, you also don't want your own child to be demoralized when they sneer at your child should your child lose out by one or two points. :rant:
While you don't mind for child or self to maintain cordial friendship, the :rant: can be a bit much that it can drive one nuts.

I have a friend who has similar copycat family interested in everything they do, same school.. same class.. same trainer.. highly competitive as well and determined to do everything better than the poor child... but worse is they are living in same building/estate. :faint: Can run but hard to hide. :scared:

To ignore is the best way but may not work... all the time.

No well meaning advice from me, but just a note to say i can understand where you're coming from. :hugs:

Hang in there. Even if they are nasty... i meant... crispy.. YOU are ultimately the original.

Haha… For my situation, I know for sure that DD’s friend’s parents encourage and fan such behavior!
