        smartmummy:
thanks janet. for ca1, they request us to revise two topics from lower block. we revise with school everytime.

you are lucky to be informed of topics...when son was in p5 sitting for ca1, i was told, 'everything from p3 up till where teacher stop'.

different schools teach different topics at p3 and 4.
daughter in p3 is taught living/non-living things, animals, plants, fungi & bacteria in term 1/2...material will be taught in term 3.
for term 2, cycles of plants and animals while states of matter is taught later...so i have to get lower block science for p3/4 preferably bundled together.

when u do revision on science, do u get ur child to remember the spellings of certain words n impt sentences?

I am clueless when to do revision for my P3 boy. Normally,I’ll highlight the words or sentences b4 going thru him.He likes science, but keep yawning when i read thru the assessment books wf him.Shld I just give him assessment straight away??

I gave my then p3 a highlighter and got him to highlight his own key words in the guide. I will highlight key words of model answers when we sat down together.

We have a book to record misspelt key words.
Although my temper rises when he could not get questions we had gone through before correct, or get wrong for those questions he got wrong before, he still likes me to go through science with him.
I could still do lower block topics alongside him and compare our answers, but for upper block, I relied on answers and him and we discussed how to derive our model answers.

                Thanks for your advice!

will the mark be deducted if the spelling is wrong? For e.g. Carnivor, instead of Carnivore

I don’t teach my boys at all, every subjects pass to tutors or enrichment ctr.

Gave up teaching them on my own… Always get angry when teaching them, think very bad for my health.

I salute all the parents here

                        hi smartmummy,

in a way, i would think it is good to revise everything taught from p3 bcos at psle, anything can be tested.

remember for my son, every ca/sa from p3 to p6, all the stuff is tested either in MCQ or OE section, so everything must be at finger tips.
spelling words like circulatory, respiratory must be memorized.
