Thanks for all the tips in this forum. I've also booked my air tickets and accommodation already. But have opted for an apartment instead because of the size of my family. Not so difficult to plan for free and easy afterall! Just hope it will also be easy when I'm there. It will be during autumn!

We were there last autumn, nice & cool πŸ˜„ So fast book air tickets? Which airline? Some airlines have promo every now and then. Ya its easy to plan free & easy as u decide your own itinerary, just need to do some homework/ research. Dont worry its actually quite easy to move around in seoul, most of the touristy places can be reach by subway. U can always ask for help when in need, koreans are very nice & helpful, at least the ones I met.

they don't call us kiasuparents for nothing right? πŸ˜‰
I booked with SQ. After flying to Europe last time, midnight flights are out, if possible. Could hardly sleep in the plane. And with just ~6 hours to Seoul, i reckon a day flight would be better for the whole family.

Metro is in myeongdong so lots of shopping & food πŸ˜‚
There's many restaurants & eateries so u have lots of choices ranging from cheap to expensive ones. Infact there's a food court just opp metro but I didn't have a chance to go. But i heard the food court across the road at Lotte plaza is nicer. There's a Paris baguette very near metro too & also another bakery shop in the underground malls at the subway. So don't have to worry about food. We also loves bread especially those bakeries in department stores like shinsaegae & Lotte. U can actually ask for sample to try 1st before buying & they are very generous with samples πŸ˜„

They will hold the reservation for you once its confirmed. They wont charged your credit card, but should you need to cancel, have to inform them at least 3 days prior to arrival but they usually will call u to reconfirm 3 days prior to arrival. They really bother to call from korea.

I am also planning for a trip to Seoul. Can I check whether anyone know how to get to mt sorak from Seoul? Is there any local day tour that we can book for Nami island? We are traveling with 2 young kids, aged 7 & 4. Hence hope to reduce too much travelling & transfers. Appreciate any advice.

mt seorak is quite far from seoul, abt 4hrs. if u prefer hassle free & reduce travelling time & transfers, it would be better joining their local tour. maybe u can check with your hotel which tour agencies they can recommend, same for nami island.
but if u prefer to go on your own, for mt seorak, u can take the bus from seoul express bus terminal or dong seoul bus terminal to sokcho, from there take another bus up the mountain.
for nami u can take their shuttle bus from insadong to nami wharf. its abt 2hrs ride. for more info check out their website.

Thanks mummy chia. Looks like it is easier to take their local tour with 2 young kids in tow. Didn’t know that Korea has local tour packages which we can book through the hotel…

Actually its up to individual, I didnt join any local tour & my 2 kids are also around same age as yours. If u dont have budget constraint joining their local tour will be more convenient.
