[Bishan] Primary Schools

Anyone staying in Bishan and sending their child to Maris Stella primary by school bus? What time does the bus normally pick up your child in the morning? I intend to enrol my son in Maris stella (my hubby is alumnus)but afraid he needs to get up very early. Called the bus operator and was told that the last pick-up in Bishan is 6.30am! Gosh then those before need to wake up at 5plus!?
In that case, I think I may go for kcpps. -

Go for good school around your area so that your kid can have better rest. Furthermore you also need to plan for alternative transportation days in which he need to stay for cca or remedial, if any.Anyone staying in Bishan and sending their child to Maris Stella primary by school bus? The distance to Maris Stella is not very far from Bishan. If driving, it will take me between 10-15min at most. I believe even if you try KCPPS, the timing will be about the same. How do I know? Because when my son waited for the school bus last year, the KCPPS students were also waiting there. Guess what? Sometimes, their schoolbus arrived before my DS schoolbus! So unless you send your DS to the school yourself, I don't see any difference. Hope my info is useful to you.

Catholic house SAP school? Do students take HCL from Pri 1? Any option to take standard chinese?
-
All SAP schools - Higher Chinese from P1 compulsory and no other mother tongues available. In Bishan, Ai Tong and Cat High are SAP schools.

There's no student care in the school itself. Most go by school bus or car. Some walk if they live nearby. There are many entrances so you can explore the best way. Besides Bishan MRT/ Bishan Road buses, you can consider Marymount MRT or take a bus to Marymount Road (just outside the MRT). You can then walk into Pemimpin estate (8-10 mins walk) and enter via the gate along Jalan Pemimpin. I see some Cat High bigger boys do that.lchunleo:
