      Gluttonish:

Thanks - called agent to enquire and was told that she needs to have the card else she will be stopped from coming out of Indonesia.

However, my friend says she brought her maid to bintan and batam without the card and there's no problem. Wonder why?!
sometimes... when i go batam, i dont even see an immigration officer... LOL.. (if arrive too early) maybe they r more relaxed on the issue.. depending on the officer's mood i guess and whether they want kopi $$$

Haha - like that very hard to decide if I want to bring my maid with me to bali leh.

She is leaving in End March next year but my trip is in sept. Don’t wish to spend another $200+ to get the card when she will leave us in another 6 months time.

But I have already paid $189 for her air tickets! =(

She needs the KTKLN card BECAUSE she's working overseas, so showing the WP card will not get her out of needing one.
When leaving their country for a holiday, they won't need the card.

Hi - My maid will be coming with me for a holiday in Bali, do I need to get the KTKLN card for her? She came to SG in 2011 so probably the KTKLN thingy wasn't in place when she first came.

Hi we went to Bali during March school holiday. I brought my Indo maid. When she arrived at Bali, she queue at Indonesian lane. No one asked her anything. When we left, the custom did not check if she had a KTKLN card. She cleared immigration with me and my baby at Foreigner section.

Hi Gluttonish, yes she has a KTKLN card. She came to Singapore in Nov 2011. Personally I think Bali is not so strict to check if she has or not. But Jakarta will definitely check.

I think it should not be any issue to bring her to Bali. Since you are bringing her for holiday. However if she is going on home leave and returning to Singapore, a KTKLN card will be a must.

At Bali immigration (exit), there is no Indonesian section. There is only Foreigner. However on immigration at arrival, its divided into two sections. One section is for foreigner - visa approval. One section is for Indonesian and foreigner from asean countries.

                  I hope this helps.

                    Hi,

I am planning to bring my maid to either Bintan/Batam/Bali. My maid’s KTKLN card already expired.

Is there a need to produce this card upon arrival and departure of the Indonesia custom? One of my friend told me that when the maid leave any Indonesia island, they need to produce this KTKLN card. Is it true?

Your advise is very much appreciated.

                    TIA

They are supposed to produce this card at the Indonesian customs when exiting the country. Not required upon entering, but a valid card must be presented on exit. If your helper’s card has expired, it’s advisable not to bring her to Indonesia (1) if you intend to bring her back to Singapore, and (2) if you do not intend to renew the card for her.
