In-law problems?

My mil treats me fairly well. Sometimes when I go over, she prepares tonic for me.

When I go over the MIL's I will prepare something that she likes to eat and bring over. Usually fish cos she likes fish.

Got motive one. :evil: If not it will be porridge with canned peanuts and fried beehoon or mee tai mak with taugeh.

Nowadays DH will pick her up and bring her over to our place. She will sometimes request her fav like sambal sotong, assam fish and I will gladly cook those for her.

MILs can be hard on the DILs, but from many of the posts here, I see the DILs can also be very hard on the MILs. Every small comment is taken as an affront.

Not all DILs and not all the time lah... Also, we are only human...

Guess one will feel happier if think in this way .....

My MIL NEVER visited me when i was in the hospital, not even when i gave birth to my gal.....
and she could Never remember my gal's name, (had to tell her in every visits)....

she could remember my SIL (hub's sis) children's names even though they are residing in US....

How come she doesn't cook proper food? Trying to save money or no motivation to cook?

Haha how about this. When i had my 1st boy, who is also the 1st grandchild of the family, she came, saw him in the nursery, and commented loudly so that all my other relatives and friends could hear, : \"so small, like a kitten, so ugly!\" She never bought me a single thing/tonic when I was preggie and that was the \"gift\" she gave me when she visited. No considerations of my feelings and \"face\". My friends and parents were so angry on my behalf!

It's NOT abt the gender of the baby for my case.....

Surprisingly, i wasnt angry or unhappy with her, perhaps i already \"factored in\"....
I rmb when my dad asked whereabt my MIL, i even lied to him that she came and had gone home..
When bb was 1 month old, we brought her to see grandma....
Hub was kinda of reluntant to go since grandma wasnt keen in the 1 st place.....
But i insisted.....told him had to go lah....out of formality.....

Son had cleft...as such he cannot be brought out of nursery. Only myself and hubby can go in. She made boo boo about it. I don't have any tonics either...so what with first grandson. She sat on the chair like some dowager...when friend came to visit me, old one's face was so unpleasant...my friend whispered she had to leave as it was uncomfortable to stay. I felt so bad and also mad with the old one :mad:
