The top 30 names in the website inclusive open and junior category right?


From the names of the school, majority of them are GEPers. Nanyang, Nanhua, Rosyth, RGPS, Tao Nan…,minority from the neighbourhood schools.

Strange ACS, St Hildas, SCGS, Pei Hwa, Catholic High, and those schools usually we buy test papers, are not in the list.

Hi, SCGS and Pei Hwa are not GEP schools. So it is quite hard to compete with the cream of the cohort in those GEP schools.

Catholic High is the top school for open cat this yr.

Pei Hwa is in the top 20 schools for Junior and Open cat...not too bad for a non GEP.

Just wonder how do u get this info ? Can't see this in the website.

I am still puzzle with interpreting the result ..
Say if a student's result is 90% , does it mean that he is the top 90% as compared with his peers taking the same result?
Say, out of 3000 children, he shd be at 300th position right?
IF this is correct, then he shd not be awarded a Credit cert, right ?

But there is a child with < 85% but still can get Credit. Why so hu


Anyway can help to explain? :?

There are 2 lists, one under Junior and the other under Open. About 30 Toppers each list.

Yup.. can anyone explain why huh?[/quote]the only explanation i can think of is that many kids have the same score. After all, there are only 20 questions and all multi choice. so it is very possible to have a few hundred kids getting the credit award because they are all ranked 120th.

< 96 percentile can also get Certificate of Distinction .... i.e. 16th - 50th position ....[/quote]Just4Fun... I think i may know why. The sample size is not that big. It may be just around 500, not 3000 for your observation to be valid. Possible? I am not very sure though haha...

Thanks dagong99. I know there are 2 lists. I am responding to the earlier posts mentioning that cat high is found in open category and st hilda, acs are not found anywhere.

Yup, i also think so and probably the spread between the scores maybe wide too, say maybe about 45 in the 90 percentile, next 60 in 80 percentile, so that it's possible for < 96% to get Distinction & < 85% to get Credit
