Just checking- if a child shows some signs of separation anxiety, will the teachers allow the parent to sit in for awhile until the child settles in? My girl is quite slow to warm up in an unfamiliar environment but after awhile, she's ok to be there on her own. Do the teachers allow this (parent accompanying child for awhile) to happen?

I'm not sure about other centres, but the one at Mountbatten CC did allow parents to sit in for children who have separation anxiety.

For Bishan (this was a few years ago) they discouraged it. They asked me to stand outside the room. They have two teachers in each room so the assistant sat with my daughter on the other side of the room for a few weeks.

Thanks. I hope the teachers are experienced enough to handle my daughter. Keeping fingers crossed!

How much is the fees for Berries P1 classes?

Is there any first time registration and deposit when we first sign up?

Berries teachers should have the experience to handle children with separation anxiety. Most of the time, it is the parents who have difficulty separating from their child when the child is crying. Believe it or not, the child WILL stop crying even if you leave and not linger around. Be confident and your child will pick up the vibes and be confident too. Seen too many parents in enrichment centres with the 依依不舍expression. Might as well get a home tutor for a child right? Just expressing my view.

Berries does live up to its name! Surprisingly, my child did not cry at all. Instead, she enjoyed the lesson and said she wanted to go back again. Back home, she was pretending to be the Berries teacher and teaching the ‘class’ (us). The lady who served us at the counter was nice and friendly too.

I am stuck between Berries(hougang) and Tien Hsia(kovan). My DS 4yrs old loves these 2 but i can only choose one.

                Any feedback for these two?

I can only advise you to go for the teacher. With your instinct, you should know which teacher truly cares for your child and wants to help your child improves. A passionate teacher matters more than the brand name of the school.

Can anyone recommend good teachers at Berries (Tampines Central branch) please? I’m thinking of enrolling my DS and he is in P3 this year. Thanks.

I very much doubt you will have a choice unless you can be very flexible on timing as their classes are usually very full.
