I feel very strange why there is no official notice to parents for such activity because I believe there are certain risks need both these young bodys and us - parents to consider. Scout 1, it is a hike and exploration activity.

Every activity outside school should have come with a letter to parents (for information & consent)… Even an SYF rehearsal at SOTA needed parents’ acknowledgement & consent…


Perhaps, the hike/camp was not compulsory and only those boys who had opted to go were given consent forms… Your DS might not have opted to go initially, but changed his mind later… That could be the reason why he was not given the consent form…

May I suggest that you check with the Teacher-in-charge of the CCA to seek further clarification, so as to prevent any future misunderstanding…
