      Hi dyh,

May I know whether the child who scored 98 percentile gets to the second round. I think the list of top scorers may not be the top 30 positions. It may be the top 5 positions taken up by 30s pupils due to identical score. So if the rule is students who are in the top 50 positions get into the second round, then that child has high chance of getting in. Maybe the child shld check with the teacher.
Hi, according to my ds, 2 or 3 people got above 98 percentile but no second round invitation.

Thanks for yr response. Maybe the students assume that their name are not in the top scocer list and hence not selected for the second round. The tr shld know who go into the second round. I think the best is to check with the tr.

http://contests.heymath.com/admin/RI13#. If you click on contest, it is written top 50 in round 1 are invited to the round 2. However if you click on about the contest, it says top 30. If top 50 are invited, it cannot be only pupils in the list.

It is written all students on the top scorers list will be invited to round 2. Dont think it is written only pupils in the list are invited into round 2. I find the information confusing till you bring in the possibility of identical scores. Thanks. Anyway I will try to check with the trs on Monday.

..dropping by.. from what I know/gather..

for Round 1 (RIPMWC), Certificate of Distinction is awarded to the top 50 scores... for those who get into Round 2 (top 30 scores), they will earn the Certificate of Higher Distinction if they are among the top 15.

The percentile figure provides an indication of the number of participants, rather that the score. So, if there are more participants, you can expect the \"cut off \" percentile for the top 30 scores to be higher, and vice versa.

From what I know, the max number of participants for open cat (P6) this year should be around 3160-3170... I know of student who got into Round 2 with a 98.8 percentile and another who did not get into Round 2 with a 98.6 percentile.

              cheers.

Thank you for yr sharing. So fr yr observations, only those on the top scorer list went to round 2? And that the thirty odd names corresponds to the top 30 positions. thank you very much

After 2 days of needing to stay back and back to back tuition and sleeping at 11pm (6.5hrs of sleep), my boy finally has chance to come home early today! :rahrah:

luckily he does not have this kind of punishing schedule frequently. last 2 days were exceptions, having adhoc after school activities and rescheduled tuition/birthday celebration.
he is now playing his minecraft.
he has another 5min of playtime before i need him to start his engine before break for naptime before dinner. :boogie:

11pm ? The latest time that DS has ever stayed late ( for homework only hor, not computer games !) is 10pm. Beyond this timing, his engine is totally off ! Exam or not exam, project or no project ; can't go beyond this hr !
