I have DD in Sec 1 and Sec2 this years in 2 diiferent schools. Based on experience, PSLE score of around 248+2 minimum to enter top 10 Sec schools. It really depend on your needs.

250 & above is actually top 10% of the PSLE cohort.

It depends, I guess. I just survived my PSLE last year. I was in GEP, so for is poor people it was "get 250 or die" in school, and "get 260 or die " at home. I almost "died" because I was too creative in my EL compo. Nicked the star right off my A.

But anyway, 250 and below is not the end of the world. Band 1 schools have about a 245 cutoff. For the IP schools, about 260, unless you aspire to get into Nanyang, in that case 265, unless ur from nanyang primary. You have a much easier job of 250
If you have an affiliation for Math and science and want to get into nush, it is safer to dsa nevis it only accepts about 15 a year through psle aggregate.

I think what ruler we use to measure. Similar to one parent stated earlier.

Just to share, my ds asked why I told very good :rahrah: to his sis for getting 80 marks in Math and why I told him too low for getting below 90 in Math? { He used to get 95-100, and his sis use to get 60-70} So you can see my ruler is different. 😉

In life, we have too many set of ruler. So... there have no right or wrong answer for what is a good score in PSLE.

For the boy from Pathlight who scored 273 with only 3 subjects (no MT), I wonder how his T-score was calculated.

Can it be that students who take only 3 subjects are only ranked with themselves? This can produce very huge statistical variances.

Is it possible for a student to get offered HMT, no EESIS (missed by 1 point) and no third lang?

                Anyone knows?

                    Yes.

but no 3rd lang seems quite unusual leh...thought they will offer 3rd lang all the way to about 240?

Or kid did not get the third language of his choice due to demand exceeding supply.
