better than go to sch and then hang around at shopping mall after school, right? πŸ˜“
oh wait...i got hang around at Macdonalds with my friends last time after school before..very enjoyable...but always worry might meet my parents. :nailbite:

think we done that before for most of us. those era of centrepoint kids or northpoint kids. πŸ˜‰

Yup yup. Me guilty of both Centrepoint then Northpoint, in that order. Marina kids anyone? That was later part, when SG more developed.

some kids can make it. But I am not going to test my kid. It should be enrichment classes, not enslavement.

in that case i need to know what is enrichment? is ballet enrichment? or is it those robotics or lego stuff?

I'll have a go at this if you don't mind.πŸ˜‰

Ballet is enrichment. For body and soul.

Until it becomes a pressing need to ACE exam after exam and later on to use for DSA. πŸ¦† Unless of course like they say, the children are the ones who enjoy it and insists on doing it. πŸ˜‰ Different story altogether.

Different strokes for different folks? :please:

Anything that is for the child's interest and no grades attached is enrichment in my books. If your child loves maths and want to take extra maths classes for fun, that is also enrichment to me.

I didn't. Too busy with after school classes and training. I had Lep classes and swimming practices twice a week each. Then modular enrichment classes once a week. I can only remember going to the cinema once during those days.

Son said he goes to school and back home everyday...why is life so miserable? After madness of PSLE, secondary school is no better...in fact, worst, 8-9 subjects.

I missed this post. That is so sad. He is only 13 and life is miserable. He should be enjoying the new subjects, friends, and soon, puppy love...

I started leaving my DS alone at home this year. Usually if DH and I go out for supper or movies. Occasionally we go out after DS goes to bed. We usually let DS know if we are going out.

Aiya no need to go into so specific.

Personally, I think a mix of academic (math, phonic, language etc) and a bit of extra like speech and drama, ballet, music, arts etc are nice. So long as the kid enjoys, has time for the classes without sacrificing sleep, play and dream time, just go for it. πŸ˜„

I'm glad son studied in co-Ed school since p1...he is not into girls just yet...hope it stays this way until he finishes sec 3 (at least).
I told him when i was in sec school, I go home straight after school was dismissed too...at about same time everyday, I would be home by 2...really very δΉ– one...no bluff. Alamak, that time not so stressful. No tests every other week.
