my ds takes 1hr to eat,2hrs to finish one compo.He eats n writes very slow.No matter how much i nag him,he’s still like that…I don’t know how he is going to do for his SA1 compo.

Daughter needs 2 days to learn chinese spelling and dictation. So I allocate the time after nap and before dinner.
When son takes his O levels in 2016, I hope my stress level will not hit same level as last year. Bcos younger one taking PSLE in the same year :nailbite:
Any mummies here with kid in sec 1 having oral soon? -

Use a timer. Then try to improve timing bit by bit. So everyday timing must improve a tiny bit and if not, some form of punishment like taking away some playing time etc. It works but you have to be super discipline. -

Ha..ha.. So we have the same problem. Have to put everything aside just to sit with her. Just doing homework & learning spelling will take 3 hours. We even have to go to bed at midnight. Can you imagine she is only P2. What will happen when she is in P5/P6?
12 midnight is way too late for a P2. Won't this cause more disruptions the next day when your DD is tired?
If my DSs sleep late, they will be even slower the next day moving around like slow Zoombies. So my target is to get them both to bed as early as possible. DS no.1 (9-9.30pm) since he is in Sec 1 and DS no.2 (8.30 - 9pm). -

My girl is in the afternoon session. She reached home at 7.30pm. She will take a break & then take her dinner at 8pm. She will take an hour to eat before taking her shower. By the time she settle down & ready to do her work, it will be around 9.30pm. Normally, we go to bed at midnight.

Kids in afternoon session have a very tight schedule…after reaching home (provided stay near), it is close to 7pm, take a shower and then have dinner…this is faster bcos it is not possible to bathe right after dinner.
It is close to 745pm and after 5 min rest, start to get homework done. Poor child will be a zombie by about 830…more tired if there is PE.
Get ‘heavy duty’ work done in the morning…stuff like compo, math hw, learning spelling for eg. 习字 can finish at night.
Son in sec 1 sleeps at about 11pm…after getting written work done, he has to revise.
Mornings wake up at 6am…breakfast and then wash up…leave the house at 630am. -

to have to face unreasonable teachers is show the kids they would have to face unreasonable bosses when they start to work…of course not every boss is unreasonable…even if they quit, there is no guarantee the new company will not have unreasonable boss(es) or colleagues either.

School bus picks her up at 11.45am in the morning & she needs to take her lunch at 10.30am. Writing compo will take 2 hours. How to do it in the morning? Will end up missing the school bus. -
Afternoon session has this big disadvantage…time is so tight. Nights, kids are so tired and mornings so rushed for time.
When son was in the afternoon session for P1/2, I would get him to take warm bath after school and then have dinner. After short rest, start doing homework…he didn’t have much, so we can finish most of the time. He slept at about 10pm after tossing for a while. Mornings I woke him at 8, have light breakfast and revise. Lunch at 1130, shower and off to school.
Had to be very strict to make sure he works fast.
