      jam,

is there a separate HCL papers in the market?

for CL and EL, we just do all MCQs. exclude all compre as lack of time. for CL, SAP schools like Peichun and Aitong and NYPS are killer to us so we put them last.

for science, we go for topical. we will still attempt to cover all MCQs (read my above note on how i sneak papers into his tight schedule; he enjoys science mcqs, so he will even try those not taught yet). for OE, i start with my preferred Rosyth, Red Swastika, Henrypark and Nanhua. will cover Raffles Girls too for the detailed answer sheet.

for math, i don't know. i just let my boy choose which he wants to do.
hi, jedamum, for p5 onwards, there is a separate HCL set of papers being sold. The standard bundle of 4 subjects consists of normal CL and the other 3 subjects. Beginning of this year, I found a shop in BBC selling the papers, all already stapled properly! So I bought all 5 subjects @$63 (55+8), saving us time on the sorting out & stapling. :imcool:

thanks for your sharing, I think my dd needs it this year. last few years she always managed to finished trying all the papers before the exams but from this year CA1 experience & her current workload, I doubt she can do it for SA1. she used to just follow the sequence that is stated on the summary sheet of each subject 😄

I will also advice her to sneak in some work if possible or cut down on her time on watching shows or listening to music or reading up on Taylor Swift! Unfortunately, I doubt that she can do much aft 8pm, her brain already switched off by then...

            Hi jedamum

I bought the 2012 online version sold by a kiasuparent " active fathering". You can find it under one of the threads " all about getting free exam papers" something like that… I only print out when I need it. It’s only $ 5 for all subj and comes with 2011 and 2010 papers too…

How often does yr ds play minecraft? I am prepared to let him play once on weekday and once on Saturday on normal weeks, but 2 weeks b4 exam, hv to stop totally… But he cannot take stress so need to relax by playing his minecraft, some of his friends can play everyday, he claims…I felt guilty after letting him play…

We bought one whole beginning of this year at $63 plus delivery.

I doubt can even finish SA1 test papers on time. End of April is Higher Chinese. Labour day is a time to study.

Yap, only one month away from SA1 and really running short on time for revision! I doubt we are able to finish doing the exam papers, there's just no time.

Generally, I find Henry Park, ACS and Red Swastika papers the easiest so I tend to start with those. Then move one to schools like Rosyth before finishing off with schools like St Nic & NYPS. For Science, will have to filter through as different schools start with different topics.

We have also started on Chinese oral practice. Gg through all the common Chinese vocab that might be needed for 看图说话。DD is weak in Chinese and would always be at a lost for words as she does not know how to articulate the items in Chinese 😓

By the way, is it just me or is there way more homework for Social Studies this year? DD used to NOT touch her SS at all, until the night before the year-end test. But now she has homework and project work for the subject.
