I hardly buy luncheon meat these days...it has tonnes of fats and also the thought of floating pigs in china river

I use smoked pork shoulder (from Giant), solid meat and hardly any fats.

My luncheon meat is from Singapore...or else spam or tulip.

I haven't eaten luncheon meat for donkey years. Maybe I should buy some. They are good to go with bread.

There is also a potato stew made with dried shrimps and garlic, 4 small to medium sized potato and 3/4 bowl of water + soy sauce + oyster sauce. Hubby + 2 boys will finish up the whole dish. The problem is getting the right type of potato for this simple dish. I find it tastes best with the Australia potato.

See la, never give locals a chance. Always quick to go find angmoh wan. Tsk tsk.

😢 not my fault lah. It's the boys :imanangel:

OT: when my elder boy was a baby, I hv strangers telling me: wah , he so cute. Your husband is angmo ah?

I was watching a Korean entertainment programme earlier. One of the participants made potato croc.....(cant remember the spelling). It is mashed potato, used to wrap some cheese/crab meat, then pan fried like a flattened pancake. Anyone done this type before?

Yes yes. The one on the Korean show does not hv the breadcrumbs.

Is this smoked pork shoulder only available in Giant? Compared to the luncheon meat, which one is more salty? Price?

Please share what dishes you cooked with this smoked pork :please:

Is it 金华ē«č…æ? 金华ē«č…æ is used for making the superior soup base for 佛跳墙 or shark's fin soup.

We found 金华ē«č…æ in Switerland supermkt. Quite cheap but the use by date is very short. We did not buy any back.
