When I'm baking a whole chicken, I would place the chicken breast side on the baking tray too. This way the fat will travel down to moist the breast meat.

Hv you ever put a cube of butter in the chicken cavity for baking? It works wonder.

      Very oily :yikes:

My lunch is simple…abc soup and rice…son will be happy when there is soup.

Carrot from Australia, potatoes (either russet or Yukon). I love creamy potatoes. Or else old melon soup or chicken beehoon.

            buds,

            It's a success!!!!!
            You did it, babe!

            :congrats:

Easy peasy just like i said right?
            I kid you not, did i? 😉
            SAHM_TAN:
            Thanks for sharing this recipe.
            You're welcome.

I thanked my fren so many times for sharing this recipe with me. She got me upgraded from mommy chef to kitchen goddess with just this one dish meal. Everyone was super impressed. 😉
            SAHM_TAN:
The chicken is flavoursome, I was a bit worried slapping on so much butter but it's great.
            I'm sure it was!

Think i can smell it from here.. yah all the way in Woodlands. Butter heaven it was uh SAHM_TAN... my whole house smelled like cakes.. and tarts.. and aaahhh... just heavenly.

Nah. Don't sweat the butter. :rotflmao:

Like i always say, eat in moderation ok wan. It's not that we ate the whole pot of rice or ate all the chicken, you see.. just our portion nia. Plus perhaps one second helping. 😂

Did you do the veg as well?

            Ahh just remembered..

Since we are referring to all this in past tense, does this mean you have no pictures to share? http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php

You know.... Pictures of your success? :please:

                Done by different hand mah.

That’s why you have different versions for everything that you like to eat. Else there won’t be one too many occasions of scenarios of people queueing up at one nasi lemak stall in Changi and yet totally no queue just across that stall? Likewise for chicken rice and char kway teow and carrot cake… etc Same for satay. Looks like Haron’s Satay still rules ECP Lagoon Hawker Centre.

By the way, SAHM_TAN did her dish not with fish, but chicken breasts. I would love to see hers.

                    Hi buds,

Yup, I cooked the veg too. 😄

The broccoli was swimming in the chicken flavoured mix of melted butter and spices after I removed the meat to let it \"settled\" heehee

My kids are ok with broccoli on normal days, but yesterday they particularly enjoyed the vegetable. Bb wanted more and more of the broccoli LOL.

I only took a photo of the rice, after that I was a bit swarmed, I was alone with the kids yesterday, by the time I remembered to take, well...........there wasn't much to take :rotflmao:

I will try that next time 😄

                      Thanks for the tip

                      Hi,

Trying out your trick today. Baking a whole chicken for dinner. I have placed more or less a cube of butter in the cavity. 😄

                        Good morning.

                        Urgently need advice as follows:

My oven internal measurement is 45cm wide, 35 cm deep.

Takashimaya is having a promo for Scanpan Impact Roasting Pan with rack, 35cm by 26cm, UP $125, Now $69

Is this size suitable for my oven? Is there too little space at both ends? 45cm vs 35 cm
