            Hi,

I have been able to help my girl’s math till I hit this question on multiplication.

            If (3) = 3 x 3 and (4) = 4 x 4, then,
            (5) x (2) = ( )

Please note that the ( ) is actually a square box. I do not know if the box is significant or not and can’t keep wonder if this is a IQ question or printing error.

Anyone have any idea ? This is one of the school worksheet in multipication.
            Thanks

              (5) = 5 x 5 = 25

              (2) = 2 x 2 = 4
              (5) x (2) = 25 x 4 = 100

              or may be

              (5) x (2) = (10) = 10 x 10 = 100

              my guess

Jane had $168 and Peter had $212. Peter gave some of his money to Jane. The amount of money Jane had in the end was $10 more than four times of what Peter had in the end. How much money had Peter in the end?

A packet of cookies was shared equally among 9 children. If 4 more children joined in, each child would get 8 fewer cookies. How many cookies were there in the packet?
