        A+B=75

        C+B=66
        C+A=61
        Draw the above ; should be able to see B is 5 more than A, ie B=5+A

        A+B=75
        A+(5+A)=75
        2A=70
        A=35

              Assume 25 five cent and 25 twenty cents

              125 + 500 = 625… too little, need to increase 225

              If we increase 1 twenty cents, we need to reduce 1 five cents… net result is increase 15.

              225/15 = 15

              So we need to increase 15 twenty cents from the initial assumption (25)
              25+15=40

              There are 40 twenty cents and 10 five cents
              Check
              40 x 20 = 800
              10 x 5 = 50
              Total = 850…correct

                        Can anyone help me to explain how to teach my kid on this question:

                        Mrs Goh had a sum of money . If she bought 32 apples and 9 oranges, she would have $10.40 left. If she bought 12 apples and 24 oranges , she would have $14.40 left. Given that she had $30, how many apples and oranges could she buy?

                        Thanks and regards
