Hi zarahsmom,
Can u share more about the outing on 21/5/13? -
xrisgoh,
here is the link to mandarina kids..
http://mandarinakids.com/excursions-workshop
basically they organise excursions for a maximum of 5 kids (with accompanying adult-- so 5 kids + 5 adults) to a popular place in Singapore for which they will use Mandarin to converse to the kids and adults at the end of the excursion.. there will be hand outs to be given out for the adults to reinforce learning at home.
its actually targetted for pre-primary kids, but I think we can still benefit from it...
the excursions are scheduled every tuesday.. 21st May is a confirmed excursion... but I will perhaps sign up for June as my dd have gymnastics every Tuesday afternoon.. we will change to saturday gymnastics class by June.. so we can start going for excursions... -
Hi,
Thank for the information. It will be very rush since the outing is on a weekday. -
xris, I agree which is why am postponing it until June…

I recently sent an email to an administrative officer of CHIJ-OLQP. Before doing that I made sure I got the name and email right. I even asked my daughter how this officer is to be addressed.
So I wrote my brief email asking for clarification on a certain letter my daughter brought home. —“Dear Mrs. _____,” and ended the email with my name.
I got a bit disappointed when the reply I got started with “Dear Parent,”…
I found the reply lacking in courtesy, to think it came from a school official. Doesn’t letter-writing etiquette taught in the olden days apply anymore?
What do you think? -
maximo,
i do agree that we expect more from school officials… in the same way our kids epxect so much from us… sometimes we slip but it does not mean we dont have their best intentions at heart…
if this becomes a pattern, then I would be concerned… but if it happens once or twice… then i guess we just have to forgive… perhaps the school officials are busy (i know … not an excuse to forget etiquettes)…
did you provide feedback to them directly? -
Any parent whose gal is in P1 this year?
any feedback for this school from the start of year till now?
read from the forum since like the school have feedbacks like under-rated or fierce teacher…
Hope to hear some good advise from all of u all… -
py85, so far my dd have not encountered a fierce teacher at chij olqp yet… also she is my first child so I cannot say whether the school is better than any other school… I love a few things about the school… and dislike a few other things… but cannot complain much, its the nearest school for us and I know that P1 is a year of transition/adjustments for the kids… specially during the first term…

Dear all,
Any of your gal need to go to another class for their Mother Tongue lesson? My gal has to go to 1J for her mother tongue lesson everyday. She feedback that the mother tongue teacher end the lesson late and she got punished by the teacher of her next lesson for coming back to the class late. So, she told me that she don’t like to change class and the bag is heavy for her to carry along. -
xris,
my gal is in 1F and she have to join the 1L class… since she have to attend the bridging modules instead of the enrichment modules… perhaps your gal is attending either bridging or enrichment modules with 1J…better call their FT or MT teacher…
dd also complain about being made to join another class…which apparently will be the case until the end of the year, unless she shows marked improvement in Chinese…
how is your gal’s Chinese?
