Hi, we are thinking of registering our girl for the 2015 intake, under phase 2C as we are within 2km.


We are very thankful that the school is in our vicinity as our girl has been requesting to get into a ‘church school’ as she calls it. We are Christians and not Catholics, so I would like to ask if my girl will be able to attend chapel services (sorry I do not know if that’s what it’s called). Is there service every Friday or something?

There are Catholic services every first week of the month. I’m afraid there are no services for non-Catholics.

Where are you located? For reference, when we stayed 2 bus stops away (Hillview area) my daughter got picked up at 7:15 AM.


You should be able to check current pick up times by calling the bus company.

Hi all, like to ask if catholics get to register in phase 2B. Been reading through the pages and can't seem to find any info. Based on the good reviews from ex students and parents, i am keen to try this school next yr for dd2 even though we are more than 2km away..

Hi Bearmama,

Based on this year's numbers, Phase 2B slots were not completely taken up. This means Catholics who live more than 2km made it. If this trend continues next year, and if you are SC, then your daughter's registration should be Ok. There are a handful of Catholic PRs that attend the school, mostly Filipinos/Indonesians/Indians, but of course Catholic SCs will get priority.

I recently sent an email to an administrative officer of CHIJ-OLQP. Before doing that I made sure I got the name and email right. I even asked my daughter how this officer is to be addressed.


So I wrote my brief email asking for clarification on a certain letter my daughter brought home. —"Dear Mrs. _____," and ended the email with my name.

I got a bit disappointed when the reply I got started with "Dear Parent,"…

I found the reply lacking in courtesy, to think it came from a school official. Doesn’t letter-writing etiquette taught in the olden days apply anymore?

my take aways
- a child who is given a clear and achieavable goal (with enough challenges to it)... usually performs well
- goals/expectations should be age appropriate
- do not say \"You are smart/clever\" when she did something good rather be more specific.. say something like .. \"your efforts paid off\"
- reward based on effort rather than just results

I was there too. Wasn't expecting much but came out with valuable new understanding of how to manage my pre-teen daughter and my younger son...
