Chiltern House

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has feedback on CH Halifax (eg school environment, teachers, food) as we will be moving house and will probably have to transfer my son there for the N1 class.
Thanks! -

Hi Cluelessmum,Cluelessmum:
Hi,
I read lotsa good feedback on CH turf club, anyone has feedback on CH Forum?
Thanks!
I have two children attending Chiltern House at Forum now. Without doubt, Chiltern House is one of the best schools here. (This is based on my humble experiences of moving my 1st child around for two years.)
Now My children look forward going to school everyday.
Once your kid becomes a student here, the staff s flexible, informative, helpful, and responsive. The school teaches kid good values. (discipline, sharing, taking turn, friendship, etc) My kids aways say she loves all her friends.
In terms of academic, the school s indeed preparing kid well. The school curriculum is very well planned introducing academic the fun and age appropriate ways. (no serious chair bounding) They also groom kid to be a great reader and confident speaker. (books both in chinese and english feom school almost on daily basis) The class size is indeed very small. (10-14 children / 2 teachers)
Even though it s just a half day program, but their day packs of fullfilled activities by highly qualified teachers. Chinese lesson is solid 45 mins daily. All children will have a chance to speak out. The chinese teachers here are attentative, genuinely very nice, helpful and highly qualified.
good luck!
It s money well spent here. -
Hi,
We only send our kids for Chinese class as we donβt speak Mandarin at home. Others than that it s really up to kids β interests. Most kids here d attend enrichment classes like Ballet, music, art or sports. -
Thanks for sharing!
Have you had any issues with the school so far?chacha2008:

Hi mommies,
I've read this thread over and over again to reduce my anxiety as I am offered a place in the PM session in EC 2014. I was yearning for an AM session because I have arranged my job schedule in such a way that I can send him in the morning. Pretty disappointed right now. I have visited a number of schools but upon a school visit, I was blown away by the center that both hubby and me wanted to sign up right there and then!
Some reasons that caused my anxiety:
1. The representative just called and mentioned if I could toilet-trained my son by next year.
2. I won't be around to send him off to school.
3. Are the waiting list for AM session ridiculously long? Will I ever get a chance of morning session? -
Has the Halifax center renewed their lease? Anyone with kids that will go to local P1, but is sending your kids to either Chiltern and Etonhouse?
Also, whatβs this about needing to be toilet trained? Is that the case for N1 enrollment?! -
Hi Mommies,
May I know how much are the fees?
They did not provide info on their class schedule and fees structure.
Thanks. -
Hi Mommies,
Just would like to share with you about some information on Chiltern House @ East Coast, whcih I obtained from the centre on 8 November 2013 relating to N1 classes:-
1. Am Session - 8:30am to 12pm; PM Session - 2pm to 5:30pm
2. Fees for N1 class for PM session (starting in January 2014) is S$1,069.80 (if your child is a Singapore Citizen and you are a working mother)
3. Currently Childtern House does not provide full-day care, only half-day (AM or PM)
4. For N1 classes starting in January 2014, (i.e. the child was born in 2011), there are 2 morning classes and 3 afternoon classes. At the moment, the 2 morning classes are full.
In addition, I also understand from Chiltern House @ Mountbattern Road today (8 November 2013) that, for N1 class starting in January 2014, from January 2014 to June 2014, only half-day care is avaliable. From the third term of 2014 (starting in July 2014), they will start full-day care program (8:30am to 5:30pm).

HI all β¦ I understand that CH would require all students to be toilet-trained by the time they enrol? That is quite a concern for me as my kid is a yr end baby β¦.

That is what they have stated but they are okay for N1 to be non toilet trained. They will let you know when you kid is ready you do not let them wear the pull up pants to school.
