Q&A - P2 English
-
Answer2 should be correct as he missed the bus ( reason) 1st, that is why he was late.
-
To me,
Ans1 means : He missed the bus because he was late (to catch the bus).
Ans2 means : He was late (maybe for school) because he missed the bus.
So it depends where the word late is referring to in this statement. -
KSP:
Conclusion: Bad question. Need to beat teacher's backside. :evil:To me,
Ans1 means : He missed the bus because he was late (to catch the bus).
Ans2 means : He was late (maybe for school) because he missed the bus.
So it depends where the word late is referring to in this statement. -
Heyya all,
Probably, one must be late first before one
gets to miss the bus, ay…
Hence, the logic for Answer 2.
Yes, i agree with chief.
Go argue with teacher!
Hahahaa!
Which sch this question came from,
can you share?
My friend was saying everything is back to language.
Even, maths problems now are more of language than
being a pure mathematics question on concepts. The
language used, why must it induce confusion in child’s
brain, my friend sighed out loud?
He quoted, even the popular more and less
questions in P1 are already so confusing… -
Heyya Chief,
Make that public caning instead.
Wuahahahahaa!
Crime?
Misleading questions leading to
confused children. And parents!
I'm interested to know the logic
behind the answer deemed correct
by the teacher...
Yeah, English IS wonderful!

Sarah:
II think the answer should be 2: He was late because he missed the bus.Can anyone help with this:
Rearrange the following words into a sentence.
\"he missed because he late was the bus\"
Answer 1 : He missed the bus because he was late.
Answer 2 : He was late because he missed the bus.
Which answer is correct and why?
Thank you.
Example:
He was punished by the teacher because he talked in the class.
He was out of breath when he arrived because he had been running.
We always describe \"something happen\" because of \"something\" -
So was he late for school or late for the bus?
What if he was really overslept and late to catch the bus? -
KSP:
Logically, we are trying to explain a situation in this instance. So was he late for school or late for the bus?
What if he was really overslept and late to catch the bus?
Basically we say that:
We are late because we missed the bus.
We are late because we overslept.
We are late because the bus didn't arrive on time.
We are late because there's a traffic jam. -
Please help.
