Physical letter was addressed to the parents. We also got an email from SJI. According to my son, there are about 20 students selected. He saw the list because they have to write their parents' email address on that list.ngl2010:
DS got an invitation letter from SJI to DSA for its IP programme. Their IP is very new so we are not too sure about it....
Hi. Just curious.
When you say invitation letter - does it mean a personalized letter addressed to your son or the class or ?

Is he from feeder schools? I think SJI do 2 rounds of dsa selections....... My ds also went for the first round last year, one of the few outsiders among all the feeder schools boys.... Came back with books and goodies.... Sji really took good care of the boys.... -

Is your DS in GEP class? -
Just wondering, is this common practise? Unless the child is well known in sports or arts or academic competitions, how will secondary schools knows of the child?
Anyway, :congrats: your son has obviously put in lots of hard work . -

I don't know whether it is common practice or not but I heard some girls schools will have some students invited to have tea with principal of some top girls school? I think I read somewhere in KSP.Just wondering, is this common practise? Unless the child is well known in sports or arts or academic competitions, how will secondary schools knows of the child?

My gal dsa last yr into one of the top sch. Her PSLE score is about 20 marks off the cut off point. So far she is coping well with both her study and cca. Her tests so far are within the average score. However, there are some classmates who look down on dsa student and refuse to be in the group with them in case they drag down their score. After you get into your dream school, things may not be happily ever after. I did not factor in her emotional problem when I dsa last year. A decision which I regretted.

Hi Love IPad,
We always decide what we think is the best for the child and often neglect the emotional need of the child. I’m like that too. -

Hi Love IPad,
Your daughter don’t need to let any of her classmates know that she’s 20 points below cop. Don’t have to tell her classmAtes her actual Psle score. Don’t let those secondary school classmates of hers talk about her, bec it"ll affect her emotionally. They don’t need to know.
