GOOD LUCK!!! hope you get in becos 2 marks is a little diff!2ppaamm:
What's the worse that can happen? Get a no for an answer. But at least you gave it a good shot. Besides, 2 points difference is really very little. There are successful cases where it is more than 10 points' difference. Shows your sincerity as well! :rahrah: Go for it!
we will give it a try this coming Monday. thanks for the good suggestion and encouragement.....hopefully get a chance to meet up

anyone knows if appeal to RVHS is still on waiting list from now to 2nd week of January, does it mean that the chance is probably very slim and not much hope ?
understand some students already received
the transfer letters....seems like hope is fading....

Once i read the thing, i right away knew it was my friend varshah, because all the thing ya said is true about my friend! I am glad my friend got into commonwealth! Good luck varshah! you rock! i am jasmine chua here varshah(: :celebrate:My daughter got 238 and was posted her second choice school - commonwealth sec. When I found out that COP for Crescent (her 1st choice) was 240, I was very tempted to appeal as she is a school netball player in her primary school and has a good chance of getting through. But my daughter strongly disagreed with us as she felt she'll be able to do better at commonwealth where there are only 5 express classes and the average COP is not far from hers. Moreover she rightly pointed out that at Commonwealth she'll be able to do triple science and double maths (a choice given to all their express students) and this opportunity might not come by in Crescent if she is at the bottom of cohort. Infact though she didn't qualify for HMT automatically, she was allowed to take HMT after sitting for their internal assessment on the registration day. So don't worry if your child did not get into their first choice school as every cloud as a silver lining.
Wishing all of you a happy new year.

Just to share : if appeal at this stage (beginning of Sec 1) is not successful, donβt give up. Ask to be on the waiting list and call them now and then to check on the status of the waiting list; some schools do allow transfer at end of SA1 or even at end of Sec 1. Be persistent and be sincere and meanwhile work hard at the new school (that gives extra convincing point to back up the appeal). Donβt forget - some students will also be transferred out to their school of choice
Been there and done that! -
