I thought it is good to take hcl in secondary sch because if yr child can pass the hcl exam at o level, the child need not take chinese at a level.
Yes but personally I think good to take HCL in secondary school only if the kid really can handle it and likes HCL. If struggle or need to spend a lot of time on it or worse get stressed over it, the distress may outweigh the advantage of exemption for A levels. The standard is quite a jump from HCL in primary school. Of course on the other hand, a kid who dislikes Chinese may want to rid it haha by clearing O levels HCL. To each his own. Btw, for some IP SAP schools, they may set minimum barrier (grade) before allowing a kid to drop Chinese in Yr 5. Do check carefully.

Ohh... Thot your Mother Tongue is Malay Language, since you are so Kawan Kawan with Buds... Oops...You are right! HCL is useful for entry into A lvl for non IP.
But HCL has been such a chore :imdrowning: for my family

DD1 brought back a stack of oral practise papers yesterday and shown me. She said CL T went thru the above Science Lab picture with them and almost all of them unable to say the \"scientific terms\" in Chinese
I told her,\" don't worry; we learn from mistakes. Mummy also don't know what is Science Lab in Chinese
Hey, what school is that? very high standard. All along I spot the usual scene 'garden', 'mrt' 'bus stop', 'shopping mall', 'bus', 'void deck'. But this science thingy is very new.
Actually 'skateboard' is very common in 'void deck' and 'garden' scene. -

Hi, we are staying in the west and looking at both the schools that you mentioned. Note that the cutoff point for both schools are almost the same. However, chances are that we will choose BPGHS over Nan Hua because of proximity reason. We intend to go for both their open house in November (if there is one). Actually, I am an ex-student of BPGHS but I believe a lot has changed since then, so better take a look first before making a decision.Any one in the west eyeing nan hua.?
Was looking at bukit panjang govt high and other 240s schools in the west, and read this. ...
Bpghs due to the distance and that it s a band 1 school as compared to nan hua ( band 2) But nan hua is all express and heard from a friend's daughter that almost thevwhole of sec 3 except for 1 or 2 classes are doing triple science as compared to bpghs with only the best 2 classes doing triple science.( she s from bpghs). Really can't decide and therefore have not submit the choices yet.
What do you think?
I wonder where can can we get info on how many classes out of how many classes, the school will offer certain subject mix.

one feedback I got for NH is that getting there by public transport is quite a chore.
