Good luck 8, the subject banding thingy sound like what my dd school practicing .... The irony is they gather the same ability children together n the better they are, they assign the \"not so competent teacher\" to teach ... So to me unless the calibre of teacher match ..else the programme is just another wayang the school put up to show :slapshead: . besides, honestly betw the 3 so call HA class in dd school, there isn't big gap to begin with so why the need to differentiate n create all these movement n waste of time, until now I am still :?

Can somebody please motivate me. Dont know why I feel so xian, so lax, no stamina to keep track of her progress. Nothing revised yet, just keeping the momentum of finishing school's homework. SA looming near, I just don't have the mood to get her started. How ah?

Are you saying u need someone to motivate you so u can motivate your DD? šŸ˜“

Is it nearing your time of the month? Changes in hormone usually affect our mood....

Yes. You will feel how I feel and know how I feel if you are faced with profile of the kid who does not feel the heat yet and no amount of cajoling, hard, soft tactics will make her do more than she could/would do. It's really best if they are self-motivated as otherwise, it's very painful and tedious to try and get her to do just that little bit more.

              Goodluck8:
The structured programme is use to teach their ongoing syllabus. So if u missed it, means that u will miss certain portion of the lesson. Especially for science, seem that the teacher cannot finish this term topics on time. It happens in term 1 also.

My DD school practices banding subject classes, means that all the four subjects, u will have different classmates. And my DD is also requires to change different class for different subjects. So the children must pack their stuff including pencil case at the end of each subject lesson. Thus, i can understand that she usually dont have time to do homework in class. Most of the time is the teacher waiting for the students to reach the classroom and u cannot do ur other subject homework in the presence of the teacher.
Wow... It is really wasting time to keep changing classroom. I think a day can easily waste 20 minutes to pack, move to another room, settle down and unpack.

Maybe your DD needs health supplement or short nap? I don't give health supplement or brand essence to my son but I will let him nap 1 hour each day if he does not have supplementary lesson.

As for dd n me, science is her weakest subj, I make a point to sit together with her once a wk to review throu exercise which I assign her to do, if she learned n did her work well, I bring her out for snacks or ice-cream, she enjoyed these sessions n we have fun .....

Was grateful her cl teacher prepared her well on her oral, not so lucky though for her eng, as usual her eng teacher empower us or our tutor to do the job, she sures live up to moe moto, teach less n the children go back to learn more ....lol

Been hearing similar story in different schools and either parents or the tutors have to do the teachers' job (to teach)...where have all the real educators gone to?

for my son, it was definitely teach less and go home to learn more.

for kids in p6, they are reaching puberty, so allow them to take cat naps...plus our humid weather makes them tired easily.

Is reaching puberty more tired for boys? My son's voice started to change last week and his voice just get deeper this week. He keeps on complaining of tireness.

those raging hormones do make him easily tired and hungry often.

Teachers pumping work plus humid weather do not make it easier either. This was the reason why I took him out of supplementary lessons. The whole year of supplementary lessons at P5 did not help.
