      phtthp:
how many top classes are there in Elias Park ?

do they fix these classes, or every year change ?

The top classes in Elias are Courage (C) and Diligence (D) .

Its fixed from P3 onwards. And usually from P5, the student stays with the same class to P6 unless the student from H,L or R performs very well, he/she will be transferred to C or D.

You mean in P5,those frm H,L n R who has done well will be transferred to C or D in P6?

What I heard frm the principal starting frm yr 2013,they will review every year frm P3 onwards, for students ability. So pupils frm C/D can also drop standard and those in HLR cld excel to P4 C/D…
        Is this right?
I rembrd there used to be kindness and peace, so now no more?

          Pardon me, :imsorry:

I meant it is usually NOT fixed from P3 onwards. Even if Child from P3c, if he doesn't perform well, he wil be pushed down to H L R....

There are more classes in P1 & P2 bcos there are 30 max in these levels. However, from P 3 onwards, there wil be max 40 in a class. However, they wil try their best NOT to make changes from P5 to P6... As they are preparing for PSLE. However, there was a couple of switches in this years P6 cohort.

I shoot myself again and again.

Pardon me, let me rephrase my sentence.

I meant it is usually NOT fixed from P3 onwards. Even if a Child from P3c, if he doesn’t perform,he wil be transferred to another class …

              Hi Seestar!

No you are alright,I get what you mean. Dont be sorry…

Btw parents, during the year end MPS last year, a teacher told us the Elite class for 2013 P3 is only Courage. Diligence and Honesty are of the same standard with one subject overpowering the other, mean to say that D can be strong in MA but not that in English and vice versa with H whereas K & L are students with others capabilities apart from academically inclined.
This was confirmed many times by the teacher thruout last year and also after seeing marks from our neighbours kids. One scored 79 for English and 88 for Math went to D while the other with score of 89 For English and 85 for Math went to H. So it makes no difference in segregating the kids.

As Seestar mentioned, those in C can also be dwngraded to other classes based on their performances. So kids could be rotating class year to year till P5.

Wow what happen to all the other parents in EPPS here?
This thread has been abandoned since Dec 2012?

Hope to see everyone back to chat!

                    Hai

I think i should pen this down so that other parents shall benefit from a bitter experience i had when my dd sat for her SA1 recently.

My dd is in P3 this year and at this level, the students are firstly introduced to OAS on most of the examination papers they are sitting for. What is OAS? For multiple-choice questions, students are required to use a pencil to shade the answers on the Optical Answer Sheet (OAS). It looks something like this.

                    http://i42.tinypic.com/2uglajb.jpg\">

It looks easy right, just shade here, shade there but do not be surprise that there are students who tend to overlook and being careless on shading the right answer to the right numbering. And like my dd, she has to pay a high price for her carelessness & negligence. 😢 Actually i cried too 😢 😢 😢 😢

My dd style of doing her MCQ papers is to do all her workings/ answers on the question paper itself before transferring all of the answers onto the OAS. What happened was, due to her carelessness and for not checking her work, she didnt realize that she had actually transferred almost half of the answers wrongly!!! :frustrated:

I was shocked and i felt like the world has collapsed on me upon seeing her Science result. :faint: :faint: My dd has consistantly scoring above 70 marks in minimum for her Science and at one point, she was a full scorer. But because of this unlucky moment, she failed the subject totally. :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:

My dd was so down, she cried and she showed sign of feeling demoralised. I met the VP, Madam ROhani, a very nice lady & down to earth. As i already thought, there were no way any school can give leniency irregardless how strong our reasons are. Well, at least my dd saw me trying my best to help her but i guess now, she has to learn from the hard way and may this incident be a good lesson for her.

Hopefully with me sharing this, you can spare yourself from the painful feeling to see such unexpected low grade on your children's report book. Me & dd are recuperating from our shock and disbelief. She needs me to continue on with her journey and together we shall succeed. 🙏
