I'm wondering any parent here have experienced a aha moment with their children...

My dd is in supposedly top 3 classes. Her peers have aims of where they want to go for secondary school and among her good friends, they even talk about targetting for the same school, etc... I personally felt that this is a good influence for her as they know what they want.

In their class, there is this girl who is like \"hated\" by everyone due to her behaviour of gloating at people's misfortune, etc... this time round dd's CA1 didn't do well and she fared worst than this person and so she is \"determined\" to do better than that \"hated\" person for SA1... Is that aha moment though in a \"less positive\" way. 😉

          Dear Mums and Dads,

I'm developing some iphone apps with multiple choice questions for PSLE Maths, Science and English 2013. I hope that my apps will be a useful supplementary resource to help make use of any spare time you have with your children when you are out and about on the bus, MRT or just have 5 minutes waiting somewhere.

I'd like to test them properly and get feedback before they go live so are there any interested parents out there? All you need is an iphone (no android yet). In return for checking the app for me you will get free access to hundreds of original MCQs. If you are interested then please send me a pm.
I'm sure some parents will find these apps useful, but I would just like to point out that maybe the time on the bus or the 5 mins here are there might be better used to build vocab for oral and storylines for compos? Then there may be less need to spend precious time at home boning up on those through assessment and guide books?

Some sharings from some time back.

If you are teaching your child at home on your own, there are many other resources in the market that you can browse through and purchase one you think can give your child an edge if he or she is already confident where oral exams are concerned... and for those who have struggling introverts, you can start out with the less challenging ones that they can manage easily to boost their confidence first.

On your end, do try to find out from the school or your child's teacher if this component is being practiced in class as well to prepare the children for exams.

              Hope this helps.

My DD bought the PSLE past year paper from the school and it is without the answer booklets. I try to get the PSLE past year paper answer booklets from popular bookstores. But the staff reflectd that they wont be selling the answer booklets for this year. How can i get hold of the answer booklets?

The answer booklets come with the books if you buy them from Popular.

But in any case you can ask the school if you need it. However, if the exercises are done in school, why would you need the answers since i suppose the school would have gone through the answers with then children in class.

The answer booklets have detailed working so don't think any teacher no matter how blur also can explain wrongly. 🦆

My son's school also asked the kids to tear off the answer and leave them at school. But very silly, on top of all the textbooks, worksheets, guidebook...they have to bring all the booklets to school everyday (but not work on everyday), why not leave them together with answer sheets at school as well? The school bag is really really heavy!

DD’s school teachers get the students to leave them in school unless if any of the subject teachers ask them to do a page or two as home assignments.

You can buy again the PSLE past year paper book from Popular. It comes with the Answer Booklet. Popular does not sell the answer booklet separately so you have to buy the whole book. There are 2 publishers but the contents are entirely the same.
