        Jennifer:
        Funz:

        Amazing. Your dinners are all like 5-6 dishes. How do you finish all the food? Mine are usually 1 meat/fish, 1 vege and 1 soup. That's it. If I cook stew, it will be that 1 dish with a staple.

        The meat and fish portions are not big.

        My elder boy now can eat more, so hubby rather I cook more than to have insuficient food.

        Hubby is used to seeing > 1 meat, > 1 seafood, > 1 veg and a big pot of soup in his mum's place. Mine is considered peanuts liao :rotflmao:

        I only cook 1 cup of rice. So I prepare another carbo dish like potatoes.

        I don't bother with soup, and fish is counted as 'meat' in my home. And I would put the chicken, potato and veg in a single dish. Also, how can your family just manage on 1 cup of rice? My family of 4, with 2 girls aged 13 and 16yo, needs 2.5 cups of rice for 1 meal! (by the way, none of us is overweight!)

            1 cup of rice is > sufficient for my children. I am not eating rice for dinner. Hubby was not home for dinner either.

              My hubby family is brought up with the mentality \"must have soup for meals\" (I cant do anything about it, though I myself do not drink soup).

              As for putting everything into a dish, this is also a big NO-NO in our family 🤷

                    I admire your dedication but I'm unable to do it. I already can't sleep properly now. My boss (at the tuition center) is just freaking unreasonable. Taking away my public holiday via SMS. I am just waiting for a good chance to throw my resignation letter :lightrod: :?: 😢 :frustrated:

                      @Nebbermind

                      Yacon is known as 雪莲in Chinese. Bought it from wet market. Boil with couple of red dates, two sweet dates and 软骨. Simmer for two hrs at low heat to bring out the flavour. According to the greengrocer, Yacon is good in lowering cholesterol and weight. Enjoy!

                      Bitter gourd with eggs, tomatoes.
                      Sauté chopped garlic n shallot with oil, put in diced tomatoes and thinly sliced bitter gourd, stir fry for a few minutes, add salt, sugar and pepper to taste. Almost cooked, add in beaten eggs to the veg. Stir fry a while to your style. I like to scramble them together. Enjoy!
